Sites can be effectively much shorter than advertised because of the amount of slope. Pretty area and fairly quiet. Laundry on site was newer but only one washer and dryer so you might have to wait. Garbage dumpsters are far away but on the way out.

We got one of the pull thru spots and if you can get one of these then I HIGHLY suggest it.
A lot of the sites are pretty unlevel but they put a lot of time into the pull throughs so they are the best spot by a country mile. The internet using our T-mobile and Verizon 5G Home Internet setups was fast enough to work during the day and even play some PS4 online at nights.
I put together a full video with all of the details if you would like to get some video and some tips about what sites to choose just click over to the video tab and get the full scoop.

We stayed here for a week in March of 2023. The good: nice lakeside site - great view and fun to watch the boats at the launch ramp. Cool to see two ospreys building their nest up by the trash. Fun to be able to fish from our site and also watch the large group of Canadian geese walking around.
The bad: both laundry rooms out of order. It looks like they have been out of order for a very long time. That would have been nice to know ahead of time, as we are full-time. Does not appear to have a camphost on site, which meant my brother's firepit was full of trash upon arrival and there was a big pile of dog poop in their site. Some of the sites along the lakeside are very short and / or not level. Our site was listed as 38' - our trailer is less than 22' and we could not back up all of the way or would be very un-level. Site 36 is listed as 40' - nope. And the area in front of where you would park your RV in 36 is very sloped, so watch it as you get out. The pull- thrus are good. But the higher up the hill you go towards the "open area", sites are sloped and not level. Even the tent sites are sloped - the tents were leaning... Site 14 has a great view, but sloped in front of site. Site 42 is longer and somewhat by itself. Site 37 is no way 47' - very short and sloped. The trailer in #38 was very un-level - the front was quite a bit higher than the aft. If you have a long RV, opt for the pull-thrus.
By Sunday afternoon, only 5 RVs here - last night most of the pull-thrus and lower sites were full.
If you want a hot shower you will have to let the water run for a very long time, but it does get hot.
Also good: Close to Macon - so great place to base from to visit Macon (very pretty downtown & Ocmulgee Brewery was a fun stop) & Ocmulgee Mounds. We provisioned up at Wal-Mart which wasn't too far away.

Bath houses were dated, but very clean. This is a nice, quiet family campground. It's particularly great if you like to fish (there is a boat launch onsite) and there are hiking/mountain biking trails in the park. Only 20 minutes from Downtown Macon, with great museums (we loved the Tubman and GA Sports HOF), restaurants and local breweries. We intend to come back, as 2 days didn't let us visit everything we wanted.

Nice clean quiet park. Only 5 others here on week night. Site 13 is huge but not very level. Certainly workable with blocks. Amazing how quiet it is.

No sewer hookups. Also the trash dumpster was too far from camping, plus it was overflowing.
Lots of kids playing together, nice to see boats on lake and houses across the lake from camp.

Makes it that you can't open your blinds without everyone in the campground being able to look right in your rig and the primary view you have is that of other people's rigs. Not a big ding, but it is what I remember of the place.
We left early due to very severe weather coming in that night. No refunds allowed (it was a long shot).

The hosts were really helpful and friendly, and suggested a great site for us with a water view and a spot right by the lake for our hammock. There were bike trails that we didn't get to check out, but that seemed pretty extensive, a swimming beach and boating on the lake. A hidden gem we'd definitely come back for if we were passing through the area.

This is a fantastic park a short drive outside of Macon, GA. The view of the lake is amazing to wake up to and provides beautiful views throughout the day. There are several great places to walk and explore and a really nice playground for the kids. The campground itself is immaculately clean and well cared for. Roads were easily navigable in a 40 ft pusher.
For big rigs I would choose the lower numbers...the spots at the top of the hill are very uneven. The lower numbered spots are very level with new concrete. The hookups are easily accessible but the water was below the ground and ours was full of water. I was able to get the hose hooked up but in the south you should look out for snakes or spiders in the hole. Each spot had a picnic table and fire ring. There are newer trees in the area due to a tornado that came through the area several years ago (apparently several people were forced to seek refuge in the bathrooms) so there isn't a TON of shade, but the setting is beautiful nonetheless. Bathrooms were clean and the showers had a faux marble on the walls for a nice look.
There are grocery stores, restaurants, a theater, and a Walmart a short drive away (about 10-15 mins).
Macon has a neat little downtown area and is totally worth the visit. Some good food and brews can be had at Bearfoot Tavern and next door at the Ocmulgee Brewery.
