Question about Apgar Campground

camper-843212 asked on 7/4/2023

We have a 41ft fifthwheel, and I drive semi for a living. Is the facility regulated to 40 ft only, or is this a "suggested" maximum length?

The maximum length of 40' is on the national park website for this campground and there are only 25 sites that are that big. We felt this campground was pretty tight with our 30' TT. The sites for larger rigs are pull-off sites, literally a few feet from cars driving by on the road so really, no room for overhang at all.

In our experience, the rangers are not measuring rigs to reject rigs that are too large. However, the campground is heavily wooded and most of the site length limits are because of trees that would block larger rigs. There are very few sites that would fit a 41 foot trailer plus a large truck, so be very careful when booking!

I didn't see anyone come out and measure a rig, but practically speaking, a 41 footer is going to have some challenges. I had to back into our pull-through site with an F150 and 29ft bumper pull trailer.
