Let me start first by saying the fee I entered above is not the Daily, which I think is close to $40 a night. They've had a "special" the last three years for Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec for $595 and It's changing in 2017 I was told. In addition to the special, you pay electric and a water and trash fee. It's a great deal for what you get and I have stayed here the last three years. Not sure about 2017 yet.
The park is VERY clean. The sites are mostly filled with Park Models and most of those are newer, but there are a few old ones. They have about every amenity you can think of and all seem to be in great shape. The individual sites are pretty close, not my favorite way of camping, but I'm gone most of the time visiting family in the area. The dog park is very nice and clean, but VERY SMALL! There is a really nice dog park several miles from the RV park that I take Jagger to daily. Also where most of the RV's are parked are next to a pretty busy highway during the day and a small airport is nearby. I don't mind the noise.
The people are mostly friendly for a 55+ resort of this type and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Within a few miles of the park there any many restaurants, stores and several Walmarts.
RetiredVagabond would stay here again

I'll start out with the positive first: most of the people at the park are friendly, and Mesa is growing so fast that it's not very far to drive for anything one needs. However, we were quite disappointed in the park overall. It sits right next to a busy road, and we heard cars zipping by at all hours of the day and night. It is also very close to Falcon Field: a small airport, and there were planes and helicopters flying over the place nonstop. The site size is pretty tight, and there are no grassy areas, just cement and gravel. They call themselves a "resort" but honestly I would describe them more as just an "rv park." They present you with a huge stack of papers upon checkin, with rule after rule. For example: no motor homes over ten years old, no motorhomes or 5th wheels less than 30 feet, no washing of vehicles on sight, etc. and yet the park has old permanent trailers, and the main facilities: office, laundry, rec room, etc. are all older buildings. In order to use the washers and dryers, one must first purchase a plastic card for $5, and add money to it. The $5 cost of the card does NOT apply to the use of the machines, so basically you are paying them 5 bucks just to use the laundry room. The dog park is VERY small, and there are no walking trails or paths in the park. If one wants to walk, they must walk on the streets in the park. Also, none of the sites have picnic tables or grills. There is absolutely NO cable t.v. service at all, unless you have your own dish. We were just able to watch local channels, and the wi-if was terrible. We had to call our cell phone company and upgrade our usage because we were on LTE the majority of our stay. We have stayed in many rv parks, all across the country, and we rate this one as mediocre at best.

“Mostly park model retirees, but not a dog-friendly park.”

Our nightly rate is based on a week's stay. We are not 55+ but for short stays they allow younger couples with no kids. This park is almost entirely filled with retirement/snow-bird park models, with a couple rows at the end of the park for RVs. Each site is gravel with a concrete patio. The sites are pretty tight, and tow cars get parked next to the patio. Our hookups were behind the site and on the wrong side, which made our water hookup difficult. The staff was friendly, but quite a lot of the residents completely ignored us--we often felt like "outsiders" who didn't belong. Our main issue with the park is that they claim to be "dog friendly" (essential for us) but that turned out to be not accurate. You are allowed to have dogs, but the friendliness ends there. There is a tiny fenced dog area in one corner of the park (with a small strip of grass, the rest of it is gravel) which is the ONLY place dogs are allowed to relieve themselves. Every time we took our dogs out we needed to get them to the dog area in the corner without letting them urinate along the way. We saw residents with small dogs carry them to the dog area, and those with big dogs drive them there. We would happily walk our dogs outside the park grounds but the entire RV Park is walled in with the main entrance (far from the RV section) being the only way in our out. Once our 12+ year old dog urinated on the gravel near the entrance (no plants nearby, just gravel) and within 5 seconds someone came over to tell us it's not allowed. Having been to many truly dog friendly RV parks, I would not recommend Apache Wells to anyone with a dog. The RV park is great for active seniors, there's a very large community area, it's clean, and there are a lot of activities. It is an obviously popular park since it was near capacity while we were there.

sites were clean and well maintained, management is top notch (not to stuffy), and internet was better than most rv parks, upload and download speed were in excess of 5mbps, and Verizon and AT&T which I didn't need to use were 4 bars. They have a small dog park on sight good for the morning relief, there is a public dog park a few mile west of the park just of Greenfield. sites were gravel with a cement pad but not a pull thru. I will be staying here again. I am giving them 4 stars, the only reason I'm not giving them 5 is due to the size of the dog park its fine for small dogs not suited for a dog that needs to run.
