We loved our stay here and would love to go back. We visited in October 2023 and the weather was perfect! The drive in was easy, but be prepared to have thousands of dead bugs on your vehicle and RV by the end of the drive in and out. The bugs by the main entrance in were crazy...so many of them. By the time we got to our campground and RV site there were way less mosquitoes, but bring bug spray! As far as the sites go, they were long and spacious. We had no issues backing in our 35ft 5th wheel, and had plenty of room to park the truck. Our site had a pavilion and a fire pit. There is plenty of room between sites, so the park is really quiet. The showers were nice but they had the lights off at night to help keep bugs out, so bring flashlights. If you are in the area be sure to visit this place! Tons of hiking and sites.

We had bison sleeping very close to our campsite. My kids enjoyed biking. This campground up kept well and is very clean. There’s a large dump station to use. I cannot speak to the cleanliness bathroom as I did not use it. Would definitely recommend just be prepared with bug spray and citronella candles.

We stayed here on 4/26/2023 for 3 nights and it was SO worth it. Here are the highlights:
- Bridger Bay Campground sites are HUGE
- Electric and Water (a luxury for us!)
- $40/night which is high for us, but you would have spent $15 to get into the park anyway
- Bison IN the campground when we were there - talk about up close and personal!
- The bugs were ok in the campground while we were there
- The bugs were awful anywhere near the water and started to get bad after dusk (that changes a LOT I hear, though)
HIKING
- If you like challenging hikes, take the Frary Peak Trail - including the offshoot after the communication station - you'll get 360 degrees of awesomeness!
- The day we hiked, we had a decent breeze and the bugs were ok until the very end of the hike.
- We saw HUGE herds of bison on the hike with so many calves!
- We also saw a herd of longhorn sheep on our trek
We saw several bison grazing by the visitor center so we could get closer views (still from afar and in our truck). There was a bit of construction coming into the park, but the traffic moved quickly.

The Bridger Bay campground is oriented toward RV’s, with full hookup sites (numbers 29-66) and non-hookup sites, easy maneuvering and paved parking pads. We did have to use our rocker blocks to level from side-to-side. The campsites are huge, each with a covered picnic shelter and fire ring, and widely spaced, but there is no other shade or undergrowth. Bison wander the campground at will. The campground, while 80-90% occupied during our stay was very quiet, and the roads in the park were surprisingly uncongested despite it being Easter weekend. Unfortunately, the state of Utah provided no discount to the camping fee even though all water in the campground was turned off for winter temperatures.

Yes, it's 15 mi off the freeway, but well worth the extra mileage! Wide open spaces, lots of hiking trails, sites with electricity and water despite the below freezing temperatures during the winter.
Dump site open all winter too!

We arrived after a long day of driving at 8:30 pm. The ranger at the gate let us know that the gates lock at 10 pm. You can leave after 10 but you cannot come back in after 10 pm. We found our site and were swarmed with mosquitos. They are the worst at dawn and dusk. There were thankfully no no-see-ums or biting gnats. The views from this park are great. You get to see the Salt Lake and there are Long Horns, Birds and Bison all over the park. There are plenty of trails to explore and the bath houses are clean. The sites are paved, this campground has water/ power hookups and there is a dump station at the front of the campground. Bison wander through the park and through the campground. The sunsets are great and we enjoyed our stay. The wind did pick up a couple of times so don't leave your awnings unattended. I think we will plan our next trip for winter to avoid the bugs. Verizon ranged from 3- 13 mbps down, and 0.18-.5 up. T-mobile 23 down and 3 up.

Large, pull through sites... amazing views, wildlife in abundance! Our first stay we were close to the beach access. Our second stay about a week later, we had partial hookups. Dump stations were large and easy to access. The mosquitos were worse than the gnats and the columns of midges along the causeway were astounding in numbers. But the wildlife... wow. Watching a herd of Bison crest a hill and charge down to the roadside was a sight we won't soon forget, burrowing owls, mule deer, pronghorn, birds, coyotes. We even had a coyote pup cross the road and stop to pose for pictures. Rangers were helpful, friendly. Sites were clean and well maintained. Not many state parks can compare to this one as far as value and location are concerned.

Sites are very nice and great view. I went when it was a bad time because the gnats just hatched but I didn't really notice them until I got to the top of Bison Peak. Camp Hosts' were really nice. The drive there across the bridge is beautiful too. There was a little beach grill near the visitor center. A great place!

The park was amazing. However the gnats are no joke. But we would come back again in the no gnat season. The bison were a treat.
