I arrived on 7/21/23 and called the number listed on Campendium. I spoke with Johnathan and he said he is not really set up for overnight stays, it’s more for long term. He had someone come to meet us anyway. It was 2pm and the guy who came out to meet us was obviously woken up and walked very slowly to us. He told us the price was $55... more

I had a great experience at American Way RV Park. The campground was well-maintained and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It was the perfect location for exploring Parkersburg, WV. I highly recommend this campground.

This campground is in the improvement prosses but has a lot of good size sites and the staff is very attentive. I travel at my job and if I ever get back to Mineral Wells I will be staying here.

“Great till new owners bought the place”

They are completely upitty their reviews are lies especially Google reviews. They talk with a nice tone but are clearly condescending and think they are above most everyone else. They pick and choose who they want around the place is a swamp you are in a mud hole 98 percent of the time. There are 3 pages full of rules one being they must approve the vehicle you drive and park in their park. They have VERY questionable views on the transgender/LGBTQ community and even protested the "Madison law". They say men should not be allowed to be hired to work around children openly dressed as women. They have VERY VERY closed minded views I'm sure the LGBTQ stuff is only the tip of the ice berg. They also will be raising rates and adding in electrical meters this coming spring. A campground is supposed to be a fun enjoyable place not a place where you feel imprisoned in your own home and like you need to dodge the owners at all costs for whatever ridiculous demand they're gonna spout out next. There is also an algae called nostoc growing on everything...and they expect you to keep your camper/rv clear of any algae or dirt even in the winter. If they can't get rid of the algae and deal with the swamp that occurs even when it is not raining then why should anyone be required to go out in freezing weather and wash their RV? Because to these guys it's about being in charge and giving you no option but to comply or move within 2 days during the off season of rv parks. They did that to more than one resident that I know of. Also they don't want u coming an going between the "quiet hours" of 9pm and 8am. Which isn't really realistic in a CAMPGROUND or for individuals who work evenings. They want mostly just nightly visitors because on their website you cannot book more than I think 21 days. I put in that I wanted 14 nights to see what it cost....598 something a month here is 500. They are out for the dollar and don't want any fulltimers which is what made up the entire park when they bought it just a Meer maybe 4 months ago and they also will not give you rent receipts. Also the rules listed on their website linked thru Google are not what is handed out to residents. These owners....one of them being the reviewer above me lord somethin are thee worst thing that happened to this place tonya and Dana knew how to treat people like people. These men think they can hand out "compliment sandwiches" and no one will realize they're condescending, think they are better than, judgemental, you know what's. To them unless you have an 80,000 dollar rig your trash. Also add in they are preachers....and their faith seems to put women under men. If your a couple they will only deal with the man even if the man doesn't pay any rent and the woman does lol. Awful people and now an awful park that every resident wants to leave due to these owners being what n who they are. We camped at American Way RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
