Overview of Aloha State Park
NOTE: After a planned campground enhancement project, sites #195-240 will reopen for the 2023 season. Additionally, due to ongoing issues with groundwater, sites #15, 18, 19, 22, 54, and 55 are closed until further notice. Please note that there's no longer a toilet and shower building in the south section of the campground because all campsites were converted to full-hookup with water and sewer connections.
Michigan Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into state parks and recreation areas, state boat launches, state forest campgrounds and state trail parking lots. On the weekend lots of people walk past but it is fine. Now that the park has emptied out some we have had no one walking through.
I do wish the rangers would walk around at quiet hours because we did have neighbors who played music loudly all night and refused to turn it down. We just used our earplugs because we do run into it quite often and we are pretty laid back when it comes to letting people do what they want.

Access - one way in... you'll see.
Location - close to Indian River, Cheboygan, Mackinac City.
Cleanliness - well kept
Site Quality - decent size, not a lot of privacy, grass sites were soggy
Noise - Halloween Celebration (first weekend in Oct) it wasn't too horrible.

Just want add that there are a few more paved sites scattered through this massive campground...., if you can, get one .... due to flooding during rain. Also the furthest from the gate to cut done on traffic. Also, the dump station treaty needs some work. The pavement has pot holes with standing water (ewe!) and evening the water hoses should be replaced .... worn, frayed and leaking. Besides electric hookups, not getting much for the money. State or national forest campgrounds are a lot nicer and a fraction the cost .

Beautiful location, especially nice for boaters. Nice beach, but lots of rocks. BUT, most sites are prone to flooding during rain. In addition, sites have no gravel pad. Grass or muddy dirt only, and most are rutted where vehicles have been stuck. The only paved sites are in the front near the gate (Our site 48 and the two adjacent) which where paved accessible sites. The downside is that these sites are next to the trash, dump station and firewood sales, plus the main campground entrance road. Extremely busy and noisy! Beware of speeding drivers as well.
