Wonderful for a night or two. We had some strong winds. My only complaint was the trash left from previous people.

Quiet, dark, no services or hookups. No campfires this time of year. AT&T service. Haul out what you brought with you. Bring a bag to help pick up some trash. Not bad, except lots of broken and old bottle caps. Looks like a party place for the locals when fires are possible.

We spent about 30 minutes picking up nails and garbage before setting up. There were several make shift fire 'pits' where folks had been burning pallets, leaving a large supply of nails where you'd drive over them. Noise was not an issue, however, the first night had very high winds.

It was nice to let the dog dip in the water and the rocks were pretty, unfortunately there was a lot of trash left behind from some of the previous users so that took away from the feel of things. Would stay here again for a nice place to sleep and hang for a morning, but would not make it a destination.

We camped here September 10 - 13 and there was only one other camper (in a van) one night. It's a great place for free camping if you have a Discover Pass. You have to buy a Discover Pass somewhere else though, because there's nothing available to purchase here. It did make me mad that people left some beer cans and trash around. There's a small amount of road noise from the nearby highway, but very little since it's sheltered by giant stones. We took some walks around, but there aren't a lot of hiking trails at the site. There is a place for hiking called Lenore Lake Caves just 3/10 of a mile away though. The cell signal was terrible for both AT&T and Verizon, but we loved the serenity and beauty of the site so much, as well as the convenience of a nearby town (Ephrata) that we'll definitely try to come back some day.

Perfect spot with room for large rigs. Close to lake for birdwatching and maybe kayaking. Right off highway but the road noise is minimal. Would definitely stay here again

I have not camped here, but want to point out a possible error in previous review. According to the linked official website, this is not free. You must have a paid pass to simply park here and possibly pay an additional fee to camp. There is a hefty fine for violation.
