What a hidden gem!!! Great attendant- John. Great camping spot. Real bathrooms and showers.
Only bad thing I can say about the place is two men hogged the mens showers for over an hour!

The vehicle sites are level, and the bathrooms and showers were sparkling clean. The camp host was very helpful. The only detraction was that the trains started rolling through at about 7AM, but that could also be entertaining, due to the cool trestle bridge right nearby.

Fire wood was available for purchase, boat launch area was well-used. Area was peaceful, rustic and calm. Absolutely recommend this campground. Minutes from Oldtown/Newport for easy access to groceries or gas, and close enough to Priest Lake and Sandpoint, that you didn't feel you were travelling far for more "action". A bit hard to find, as signage on the roadways isn't that good, but well worth the effort!

My site (#8) was impossible to level due to a backwards downhill slope, and in general, I am finding that (for me) all the campgrounds in Idaho are gloomy - the trees are so tall, and there just isn't enough sun. My site backed up right to the water, but it was next to the "group" campsite. There are also several good looking platform campsites, which do look level, but they are very dark. Bathrooms are exceptional, and Lake Pend Oreille is beautiful from here.
Price is with the senior pass, but it was also the posted rate when I got here. Access is on a dirt road, that was in very good shape. There is no dump station.
