We Stayed 3 Nights In The Campground Section B the second week of May. Our site had Power And Water Connected. The Camp Spot Was Not Very Far From Th Boat Ramp To Launch Our Fishing Kayaks. Wind picked up every afternoon providing a welcome relief from the hot Arizona sun. Showers and flush toilets were within a short walk from camp and each site offered a shaded Ramada and fire ring. The Ranger Station offers some supplies like Gatorade, ice, and some fishing bait, otherwise there is no general store for miles.

We had a nice time at Alamo Lake. We had good T-Mobile service in our site in Loop E, -88 dBm, and AT&T at -99 dBm was good enough to stream. We don't have "bars" on our data devices. No OTA television. There's a dump station and potable water in the C Loop campground at the entrance to the loop, near the bath house, which was very clean. We could hear the burros and the coyotes, especially at night. Seems like they'd come closer to us after dark and then make lots of noise!
The other campground section has a small store, and we had to go there to register since the entry station wasn't manned when we arrived.
Our site was a back-in, plenty long enough for our 68' combined HDT and 45' fifth wheel. They were in the process of putting up shade shelters, and finished ours while we were there. We put the fire pit on the correct side with the picnic table, but they'll probably move them closer to the shelter, which is on the lake side of our site.
Bugs were crazy, keeping the windows closed until after we turned out the lights inside worked. They weren't the biting kind, more like tiny gnats and a small type of may fly. Windy for a couple days, so they'd gather on the lee side of everything.

This is a really good place to camp, but wish we knew there was no signal for Verizon or T Mobile. Sometimes noisy on the weekend, but what place isn’t? Very enjoyable seeing the wild burros.

Between the large groups, the ATVs, and the generators it definitely has not been peaceful. There is nothing to separate the sites so that does not help. We are here on a weekend so that is part of it. On the positive, there are numerous wild (?) burros and the grounds are kept nice. Really mixed feelings.

Alamo Lake State park is one of the most remote locations in AZ. This is our fist time here and have fallen in love with it. The camping rates a good and they have a dump station with water to flust the tank along with potable water to film fresh water tanks. These are at the entrance of campground C.
Site 8 is located just across from the entrance to the OHV area (BLM land). If you enjoy off roaring with a dirt bike or RzR then you will love this area. There are ton of trails and roads for many many miles or enjoyment.
You can also camp in the BLM area however there is no dump station or water. Which makes this state park the perfect location for what we consider a small price.
Ther is a mix of pull through spots as well as back in.
Campground C is all paved and has water and electric at a number of sites. (No sewer at the sites).
Campground D is all dirt sites and dry camping.
Campground E is all paved and pretty level. Site 6 was level. It is also dry camping.
They have some full hookups by the ranger station ins campground A. Campground B has a mix of dry and electric/water only sites.
Cellular service is strongest on TMobile out here. Verizon and ATT are acceptable.
Campground C, D, Abe E as well as the BLM land all have great cell coverage. Campground A and B it’s weak to no signal.
As for weather it would get hot here in the summer but for fall, winter and spring camping this is a fantastic location to come and enjoy some of AZ.
One note, the closest fuel is about 45miles away so make sure you have enough to do what you want and need too.

Lots of primitive campsites by the lake. Nice camp store and check in area. Store has basic stuff including ice and firewood. Staff are super helpful and We stayed in the Ramada Loop, that was the only area that had electric and availability for our stay. The Ramadas are on the higher end of the park. There are only 12 sites total and only 2 have a good view of the lake. The Park Ranger Maintenance garages and storage is right there and sort of takes away the appeal. RA 7 where we were is right on the bend of the loop. The sites are fairly large but really close together. We had one neighbor behind us and we could hear their water pump every time it kicked on. Not a big deal... just gives you an idea of how close we were. The sites in this area are super unlevel. We have a small camper and it was really frustrating to get set up. Even with our best efforts we still couldn't get fully level. The Ramada is nice with a concrete patio and picnic table. Flush toilets but no showers in the Ramada area. The sites are really rocky and the ground is so hard we couldn't pound in stakes (heavy nail stakes, not the cheapy ones) for our Clam, we had to tie it down to the ramada and the camper. We will most likely visit the park again but will stay in either B loop or the primitive sites by the lake.

We weren't sure about this state park since it seemed to be out in the middle of nowhere, but we were pleasantly surprised. It is true in the B campground that there is really no cell service at all, but we don't mind that when we are camping for a weekend. Every once in a while texts would go through so we could communicate a little bit, but again, no big deal to us. Our site was level and spacious and had a surprisingly nice view of the lake even though the water was receded quite a bit. Our kids enjoyed exploring around and it was fun to hear and see the wild burros each day. We also heard coyotes, but never saw those guys. We are already reserving another site in the B loop for another trip. I probably wouldn't go hear in the summer, too hot, but in November it was lovely and we are going back here in December again for a longer stay. There was a really nice fire pit, positioned for a nice view and a picnic table. The sites are double wide which worked great to park our trailer and truck side by side. It was packed when we were there, but we didn't feel cramped at all. The park rangers were super friendly and the bathrooms were clean. It is a bit of a hall off the highway, but the roads were paved so it wasn't a big deal to us to have a nice little drive to get here.

There is barely any cell service on Verizon and AT&T. We weren’t able to work and had to leave right away. Which is disappointing given how long it takes to get into the state park. I will say our drive in had a beautiful sunset. So this would probably be great for someone who isn’t dependent upon reliable internet.
