Got outta there early next morning.

Some noise from air traffic from military base practicing but that went away at night.

The sheriff' drives through occasionally. It feels very safe, just no longer maintained. We will stay here again . Some areas did have some glass, but mostly very clean. I heard you could camp in picnic are which was really nice. We did not confirm. Also, it is open range. We had horses join us one evening

The camping area is adjacent to a city-operated roping arena and likely gets quite busy during times when the arena is in use. Otherwise, this is a pleasant and quiet place to spend a couple of nights when visiting Ajo. We were here during Ajo's 38th annual Fiddlefest and the place was about 1/3 to 1/2 full.
At some point in the past this facility was more organized/formal and included well delineated sites, water and a dump. The water and dump are gone; but not to worry as both are easily obtained in one of several RV parks in town about five miles away. Water can also be obtained at several vending machines in town at a cost of $1 per 5 gallons. The sites a less well delineated than they used to be and it's a bit of a "free for all" so it's hard to say how many sites this facility offers but it can clearly accommodate way more than fifty RVs. We had no problem orienting our rig east/west to maximize our solar potential.
There is no cost to camp here and a park ranger came by during our stay and asked us to "register" by completing a very basic form and displaying it on our rig. When we left we took the form with us so in effect there was no record of our visit.
The camping areas are all reasonably level and can easily accommodate even the biggest rigs. The sites along the perimeter offer nice desert views. There is some broken glass spread around some of the sites. We picked up some of this to try and improve the site.
This is a fairly dry desert so don't expect a lot of vegetation. We did hear coyotes in the distance at night and there is a pack (?) of wild burros that pass by at night.
Verizon internet is OK. I was generally able to stream standard definition video from Netflix. Phone service is fine. There is no over the air TV and no radio worth listening to.
