We didn't time it this way, but we arrived right around 3pm - and there was a huge fricken line of RVs waiting to check in. Guess that's because of the aforementioned strict 3pm check-in time.
It took 30 minutes to get through the line, as they check ID for each site as well and have to go through the whole where to put your trash spiel.
This campground does stay booked up, it was full on a Sunday evening - our arrival day. Which means it's a constant shuffle of folks moving in & out and driving around the campground loop (not relaxing at all, and makes it difficult to get a walk in.)
And aside from the waterfront sites - we really don't get why this place is so popular.
Our site was ok, but pretty sub-par compared to other ACOE campgrounds. The Recreation.gov site listed it as a 90' site - but if your rig was much more than 25' you'd have serious leveling problems.
Few sites offer privacy or separation and many are just average sites.
The bathhouse was very disappointing. It's HUGE inside but just three bath stalls and three shower stalls. But each shower stall is just a shower - no where to set your stuff. The changing area is shared and right in view of the door which is kept open most of the time. Felt more like something depicted in a prison movie, than a campground.
Overall very disappointing stay. Didn't help that our late evening arriving neighbors took forever to get lined up in their site with their loud diesel running and then promptly got out the LEAF BLOWER to clean off their entire site.
Oh well, at least AT&T and Verizon has great speeds and we could shut the door and Netflix our evening away.

All the reviews got it right. We booked 2 days prior and were able to get the last spot. Sites 57 and 58 are pull through, but the water and elec are on the door side, so plan accordingly. We went swimming and the kids had a blast. We showed up at 1530, no line, simple registration.

Apparently June is rainy season in Tennessee and we're growing webbed feet! Four good size thunder/lightening/wind soaking storms over the past seven days. Do NOT leave the campground without putting all awnings in! Onto the campground..great spacious sites and bring the toys because there's room for pontoons, jet skis, etc. There is not a bad site at this campground but odd numbered sites 15 to 35 back to the water and that's a plus! Sites are $22/night; $11 w/Senior Access Pass.
Restrooms and showers acceptable. Dump on site. Trash needs to be dropped at the Dump. Strict 'No entry before 3:00' enforced! The campground is about a 25-minute drive to Nashville and 45-minute drive to Franklin.

Stayed here one night and went to Nashville. Very nice campground some very nice spots on the lake. Quiet and well kept. The camp hosts here are outstanding and run a tight ship. No entry until 3pm. Cell service good, bath house with showers very clean.
Each site has tables, fire ring, lantern post, water and electric.

Beautiful campground at great price. Has 50/30 amp service and water but no sewer. Dump station on site but access road was tight for our 33’ 5th wheel and F-350 long bed tow vehicle (total length 53’). Was doable with vigilance. Restrooms were clean. There is 1 coin operated washer and dryer outside in the back of the main comfort station. Most sites are fairly level but others are made for shorter rigs and have some slope in them. Many sites are 100’ long or longer, especially those along the lakefront. The campground is very popular so stays near capacity almost all of the time. Reservations must be made via reservations.gov. Check-in time of 3 pm is strictly enforced and there is no good place to park at the campground while you wait.

We left after our 2 scheduled days wishing we'd made longer reservations. This is a beautiful campground with huge spaces, a number of them (like ours) along the lake shore that is quiet and easily accessible* and convenient to Nashville.
A few things to know: Our GPS (Garmin) directed us on a complicated route and it would have been a lot easier had we thought to read the site's directions. They Do. Not. Allow. registered campers to occupy their site until 3pm on the scheduled day and that is to the minute. They will send you to wait at the boat ramp if you are early but our suggestion would be to wait until about 3:30 as at 3pm all the campers "in the know" will arrive. We arrived 10 minutes early, went to the boat ramp and on our return got in line with 8 others. Once you are there though registration is easy, pleasant and straightforward.
While the roads are wide enough (not huge though) and were newly paved in Apr 2019 getting into some sites can be tricky. We watched 2 different campers in 5th wheels trying to get into site 12 with GREAT difficulty. Our opinion is that unless you are in a class C or Class A under 40' that site should be avoided. There are two trees to maneuver around while trying to stay on the road. Others sites are much easier. Ours was superb. #11 has no one on one side and the next campsite down is far away. The site backs up onto the beach with 2 stairs down. The patio area is huge with a nice concrete picnic table that could not be moved but a small 2nd table to use for a grill. (excellent!) We did not use the fire ring but you are allowed to use fallen wood from the site. Our water pressure was great at 50psi and the water was good. 30/50 A receptacles worked without any problems.
I did not look at the washroom/laundry rooms but my husband reported they were standard fare, a bit older but clean.
The dump site (there are no sewer sites) had the dumps on both sides of the road and a good long hose for rinsing.
One other note:
There is a mailbox at the entrance if you need to mail anything.
It's an easy drive to Nashville from here and all conveniences are within a shorter drive.
One other note: some other reviewers have reported airport noise that is not a bother. Although we saw a few planes and faintly heard them we were not bothered at all by them, especially at night with windows open.
We also experienced this CG in all types of weather. Rain, fog, sunshine the view was beautiful and the only thing we missed was a glorious sunset due to low clouds each of the nights. Still...
We got 4 bars boosted of ATT.

Great Campsite but terrible registration system ( recreation.gov) we wanted to stay longer and noticed plenty of empty sites, but the park would not give us them. Said we had to go through recreation.gov, which of course said no vacancy. We understand the problem is people don’t cancel. But there needs to be a better system. When we travel we don’t always plan months in advance. Campsite has electric and water. Dump on site. Bathrooms or ok and have a washer and dryer ( outside $1) sites along the water are long and have great views.

Park offers 60 water and electric total sites with comfort stations and bonus-laundry facilities at $1.00 per cycle.
Best sites in my opinion with water front views: 11, 13, 23, 35.
35 being the best with no neighbors to your front door.
Nice camp host. Each site has large cement tables and cement driveways
