This is a fairly large CG and there were only a few other campers here mid-week. The road leading to the CG is a little bumpy, but not too bad. The gravel roads within the CG are filled with fairly significant pot holes that must be maneuvered around and there are a few low branches that need to be trimmed. The men’s showers were rust stained, but otherwise fairly clean, but my wife said there was hair on the floor and walls of the women’s showers. The showers are coin operated and mine was amply hot, but the water heater kept shutting off every 45 seconds or so. Turning the faucet off and back to hot would start it again. My wife said hers didn’t shut off, but only got warm. Water spigots available around the CG, but the one nearest us was out of service.
AT&T coverage was decent, with 1-2 Bars of LTE service and speeds up to about 3.5 MB/s. We had a clear view of the southern and northern sky, so we were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site and Starlink had speed up to 5 MB/s.

Very quiet and peaceful area.
Cell phone coverage is poor at best at the campground but ok if you go up to the dam level.

Water had some potential toxic algae so unable to get in that water. Kids and friends boat and played on beaches of John Martin. Lake was very shallow this time of year.
Next time would like to stay in site 65-73 range as all Sites completely covered by shade.
Respectful neighbors. Lots of kids to play with and ride bikes. Playground was nice. Didn’t use bathhouses so can’t comment on them.

Favorites - Location close to two lakes, large trees, Camp Host (Cliff), large sites for easy navigation, nice fire pit and enclosure with gravel tent site. Fresh water spigots throughout, nice bathhouse, clean vaulted toilets. Dark sky site closer to the dam.
Negatives - None thus far.

We only stayed here for one night but it was a really nice campground. Our site was conveniently located across the street from the super clean bathroom facilities. The site was huge and right on small Lake Hasty below the dam. The only thing we were a little concerned about was the parade of skunks that started as soon as the sun began to set. There were quite a few of them and they were fearless. We rode our bikes across the dam and around the campground. It's pretty flat and riding was easy. There was also a big storm that rolled through but that sure wasn't the fault of the campground!

Good shade on the water but sites number 77, 79, and 80 had the best overall shade. Small lake below the dam. We were charge an entry fee that was not mentioned on the website. No big deal but a surprise.

Fire ring was a little small, but worked for our needs. The shelter over the picnic table is a nice touch. Lots of mosquitos, but bug spray worked well. Wind also picked up in the evening, but angling the trailer provided a good enough wind break for the picnic table it wasn’t a problem—so back the trailer in a bit more than you’d expect. Road to the site was nice and wide too. Poor cell service below the dam, but that is way low on our priority list. Lots of taps to fill water tanks scattered around the campground, no need to wait if one is being used. One big negative: the dump station doesn’t have a wash out tap.

Although we stayed in the outer area where there are no trees, there are plenty of spots that are covered in trees. We swam in the lake, and the view of the dam is so cool. It is electric only, but there is water readily available, and dump sites, so a day or 2 here is a breeze. Loved it!

This was a convenient one-night stop along our route, but we were pleasantly surprised to find the big trees and nicely spaced sites at Lake Hasty Campground. Sites 35-38 back up to the small lake and would be my recommendations when choosing among the lakeside sites. We had shade at site 38 on the end. Sites along the outside of the loop are spacious and shady, and the road that borders the campground didn't seem too busy. We camped at site 90 on our way home--it was a long pull-through adjacent to a grove of trees. Some leveling required, but nothing crazy. We saw a flock of wild turkeys, and I understand the birding here is excellent during migration seasons. No water at the sites--just electricity. We didn't explore the other side of the dam, which would be more suited for boating, etc. Our sites had electricity, no water. The dump station was one of the nicest we've encountered in our travels.
