Brattleboro North KOA Journey

This the best KOA we've ever stayed at. The owners Kat and her husband are very attentive to all of their campers. They are always out in the camp ground checking in on folks, etc. We had a very minor issue and they and their staff were all over it to get it resolved, they then followed up multiple times to ensure we were happy. Check-in was easy. The gift shop / camp store is well stocked with necessities. Over the weekend they had many activities for adults and kids, out favorite was the salsa tasting and the root beer float making. We also enjoyed the crystal clear pool with other guests.

The camp ground is very clean with well spaced and level spots.

We will be returning often.

This is a small park for a KOA but it’s set up in 3 expanding rings. I ended up in a spot with no sewer connection but they have a free pump out system they bring over to pump the Airstream out when asked. The organic farm next door was wonderfull and Brattleboro, VT is just a couple miles down the road. It has the biggest fenced dog park I’ve ever seen and they hope to expand it. I had a great spot in the outer ring in the corner near the pool (which I didn’t use but many others seemed to enjoy). The owners were wonderful, there was a passing heavy storm with serious winds and they were both out in golf carts checking on everyone right after the storm (my screened 12x12 screened shelter over the picnic table almost blew into the pool). Cable worked great. Perfect place to stay while transitioning to full time RVer and clearing out items in storage. There were 4 Airstreams there one night. A record for me.

This is the first KOA I have camped at and it was an experience. The pull-through sites are generally arranged on concentric semi-circles. Our spot — A15 — was on the inner semi-circle facing the activity building. I didn’t use the facilities in this building so I can’t say much about these.

The campground was full by nightfall with a mixture of longer term vacationers and overnight guests. Lot’s of children were at the campground and dogs, too. Big dogs actually so Earl had to mind his manners as best he could.

Cable TV had good reception most of the time and ATT had service, but it was too slow for streaming. There is an organic farm surrounding the site and while I could not get there during their hours, the campground host told me they had fresh sweet corn and tomatoes. Wish I could have grabbed some.

Earl and I would stay here again if passing through.

We stayed here using a "stay one night, get one night free" promotion. This is your typical KOA. Specifically, it's a Journey KOA, meaning it's meant for people to stop over for a night or two....don't expect a resort.

Check-in was smooth. I thought I had reserved full hookups, but only had water, electric and cable. So be aware that not all sites have sewer. Also be aware that they have some sites along the perimeter of the property along the fence. This might be for overflow. The place is big rig friendly as long as you take care as you drive,

The roads and pads are gravel. The sites are grass. There are a lot of evergreen trees that were dropping needles in the fall, so this resulted in lots of dirt getting tracked into the RV when the grass was damp. Not a big deal, just get the broom out.

The cable TV had plenty of channels, but at times the picture was fuzzy. The WiFi was much better than your average campground WiFi. It would drop out at times, but came right back up. Speed was more than adequate. Verizon worked fine in the sites near the road, but as I walked into the Rec Hall or towards the back of the property, the signal would get really weak.

This appears to be a family orientated campground with lots of activities, even in the off season. Lots of the families camping seemed to know each other. The KOA has three goats that kids are allowed to help walk!

Rec Hall was nice with a pool table, ping pong, TV, games and books. There are also 3 (each) new washer and dryers that worked very well.

There are some other campgrounds in the area that bear looking at. We stayed here because of the deal. We would stay here again, but I probably would look at other campgrounds in the area too.
