Just two full hookup sites, 30A only, right off side street with little traffic during the day, nearly none at night so it’s nice and quiet at night. Easy sign in, just write your info on and envelope with cash and drop in slot. I called the number provided and was told as long as there was nobody in the site it was mine. Would stay here again for the convenience to town.

The advantage to this site first and foremost are the owners and staff. They offer a wealth of information and experience. The shop and informative displays are very nice, and you are across the street from the NPS visitors center. The site is walking distance to downtown, and a short bike ride for anywhere else. The advantage to this site first and foremost are the owners and staff. They offer a wealth of information and experience. The shop and informative displays are very nice, and you are across the street from the NPS visitors center.
The site is walking distance to downtown, and a short bike ride for anywhere else. Many food and drink options on Main Street. Coin Laundry at the Roadhouse.

We found this place using Campendium and agree that its the best kept RV secret in town. The Salmon Center is owned by a couple of environmentalists who study fish in Alaska and clearly have a soft spot in their hearts for RVers. We found this place using Campendium and agree that its the best kept RV secret in town. The Salmon Center is owned by a couple of environmentalists who study fish in Alaska and clearly have a soft spot in their hearts for RVers. There are two spots with full hookups in their parking lot. You can also use the very nice bathrooms in the Talkeetna Ranger Station across the street from 8-5:30pm. Very quiet side street off Main Street In the center of town.

Tight quarters but great place to explore Talkeetna. You need to walk to explore Talkeetna and you are 2 blocks from the hub at this site. We just fit with 43’ of overall length (21’ trailer and pickup). Double slides probably would not work. It is really just an asphalt pad with two parking slots. That being said the location is everything. Stop in to see museum and film at the Salmon center

Overall Rating
Susitna Salmon Center is a great place to stay in Talkeetna. FHU for $25 most places in town charge more for no hook ups. It is also a not for profit business that researches, educates, and promotes the ecosystem for salmon. Also a short walk to the beautiful Susitna River, on a clear day you can see Denali.
