“Great Quiet Place To Stay”

Nice quiet place to stay by the water. Stayed 2 nights. No cell signal, but very pretty place to stay.

This was a nice little free spot about 10 miles from town in the Cherokee National Forest. Our site was right next to the Tellico River, and it was beautiful! The road was a bit narrow and rough coming in. There was no cell service. It had a vault toilet, which was clean (but still a little un-fun). There was a small fishing convenien... more
This was a nice little free spot about 10 miles from town in the Cherokee National Forest. Our site was right next to the Tellico River, and it was beautiful! The road was a bit narrow and rough coming in. There was no cell service. It had a vault toilet, which was clean (but still a little un-fun). There was a small fishing convenience store about a mile away that had propane but no firewood. You will need medium to high ground clearance vehicle to stay here. There were pay sites further down the road ($10) that were better for low ground clearance vehicles. We were there in the off-season, so campsites were not super clean (fire pits had cans, etc.) These sites were first come first serve, so we loved that.

We brought our cargo van here and it was perfect. Hard to find campsites right on the river like this. The road in is in rough shape. We saw one camper pulled in but everyone else was in a van or SUV. If its full or you're in big rig there are numerous other campgrounds down the road for $10 a night. We brought our cargo van here and it was perfect. Hard to find campsites right on the river like this. The road in is in rough shape. We saw one camper pulled in but everyone else was in a van or SUV. If its full or you're in big rig there are numerous other campgrounds down the road for $10 a night. The site has one valut toilet and no trash service, or water.

Nice area, pit toilets. Very primitive and remote . Most campsites by the river , rocky and uneven ground , definitely tent only or roof top tent .No cell service.
