Only few sites allow up to 25 feet RV. Majority of sites have a 20 feet length restriction. Cellular signal is from Canada if you don’t have international plan.

CONs - TEENY TINY SITES (I asked the ranger, the park was originally for tents only) so be CAREFUL about the size of your rig and where you think you can squeeze it into!! And bring plenty of leveling blocks - I used 30 trying to get level and couldn't level up in site #6. I asked if #2 was open and it was, so I moved there and still had to work to get level. But it was worth it!!
If I go back, I'll definitely pay for the premium sites!!

Tucked away through the forest, but right on the edge of the sea, you won’t want to miss this idyllic place. Each campsite is magical, you can’t go wrong no matter which one you choose. No showers but very clean bathrooms making cleanup easy Lots of beautiful coves with driftwood; Hawks, seals, deer... it was very difficult for us to leave. One of the most peaceful three days we’ve ever spent. No cell service but well worth it. Note: be sure to drive just a couple miles farther to lime kiln state park; this is an extraordinary place, perfect for a whale watching

Small county park on the shore of Haro Strait on San Juan Island with only 20 sites plus a hiker/biker/kayak site. I hate paying a reservation fee ($9) and prefer to stay flexible without reservations, but reservations were strongly recommended and upon arrival, it appeared all sites had been reserved/occupied. Most sites have varying degrees of a water view. Very proactive recycling program with clear instructions about what is accepted. This was appreciated; as we travel around the country, the rules are different everywhere we go. The ranger appeared to be living on-site. We did a sunset kayak tour and advantage was that the tour company met us at the ranger station at the park; I highly recommend doing this. We were very lucky as we saw whales! A bit pricey for no showers or hookups but the location can’t be beaten.

The campground doesn’t allow trailers over 20’ to stay here, so small rigs only. There is an easy launch area for kayaks, and there are kayak tours that operate here.
The sites are randomly situated in a hilly area, most with a beautiful view of the ocean, and they are small and not very level. This place has a personality of its own being so secluded and natural, unlike most of the planned properties we’ve stayed at. Our site, #2, was fairly level (#7 was not), and had a narrow but long grassy area to spread out with a fantastic ocean view. There were mostly tenters here, with a few vans mixed in. More vehicles than not had kayaks on top of them. We got the feeling that more outdoorsy types rather than boisterous groups like to come here.
Bathrooms were clean with flush toilets but no showers. Water is available but no dump. Overall, very peaceful here with respectful neighbors all around us, as people came and went. On our last day there was only one other camper besides us.
The whole island was a joy to explore with many easy but beautiful trails with great views everywhere, and our tour on The Spirit of Orca boat was epic. Seeing orcas in their natural habitat was an amazing experience. Captain Ken Rea was able to keep us on a pod of 6 orcas for great photos, and he was extremely capable, knowledgeable and friendly.

BUT, if you fit in this campground -- are you in for a treat! It is on the quiet side of the island overlooking the straight and Victoria Island. There is a staircase down to an incredible beach where we tracked a pod of whales going across the bay. It was a memory that we won't forget!
I'd stay at this campground a THOUSAND times over as a cheap, and wonderful, alternative to the overall pricey-ness of the island.
