I kept driving and driving along the road to find an open spot and the right spot. Ended up finding a lovely site, though not level, with a gorgeous view of the valley! What was annoying was that hunters looking for elk continuously drove into my area to look for the animals. I came for peace and quiet but they did not seem to respect that. If it weren't for that it would be a perfect site. Birds chirping, gorgeous aspen trees, overall great site in beautiful mountains.

We had snowmobiled here several times while on ski trips to Utah & wanted to return in the summer to see it in another time of year. We stopped by to fuel up & empty our tanks just outside Salt Lake City and met a local who said he had just returned from the area & gave me the location. There are campsites about every half mile to mile all the way back along the road for about 4.5 miles on the Wasatch Ridge RD/ FR 20068. The campsite at the 3 mile mark has the best view from it's site, but has a bit of a slant to it. The road is fairly rough in a few places with lots of rocks embedded in the road bed, go slowly & you'll be fine. We camped at the 4.5 mile site which has a fantastic view across the road from the campsite & probably the biggest with room for a couple of rigs. We didn't see anyone until late the second day & only a few others on quad ATVs the next day, making for a very quiet & peaceful setting. Of course the weather turned kind of sour for us, as we had rain early, then it hailed twice the same afternoon. The next morning we woke up to 4 inches of fresh snow & about 28 degrees, but it did warm up and mostly melt by sunset. All in all we loved it, beautiful Aspens & American White Spruce abound, which makes us want to come back one day in the fall to see the Aspens turn golden. Also we needed to use our WeBoost to get a better cell connection, as most of the time we only had 1 bar.
