Location was close to interesting things to visit (Poughkeepsie, Rhinebeck, Vanderbilt mansion, Mills mansion, walk across the Hudson bridge, etc). Site layout was odd with uneven spacing and many sites that were not level or difficult to get into. Careful with big rigs here. Playground was great. Fine for a few nights.

A little rustic but worked for us. We'd paid $$$ for the only other RV park nearby the night before, and this was a better option in many ways. We didn't luck into an electric site, and the showers are fairly "camp"-like and old, but the generator hours were generous, so we were able to make dinner and breakfast. A little rustic but worked for us. We'd paid $$$ for the only other RV park nearby the night before, and this was a better option in many ways. We didn't luck into an electric site, and the showers are fairly "camp"-like and old, but the generator hours were generous, so we were able to make dinner and breakfast. Woodsy and kind of random layout of campsites, not all of them level. Rangers were super helpful and nice.

Nice location and plenty of things to do within 20 mins of the camp ground. Brand new playground(2021) that the kids loved. Bathrooms are eh. Showers are warm but not very private or large. Nice location and plenty of things to do within 20 mins of the camp ground. Brand new playground(2021) that the kids loved. Bathrooms are eh. Showers are warm but not very private or large. Worked well with our pop-up. But I could see how bigger rigs would have a tight fit. The river trail hike is beautiful! No firewood for sale at the site, but the gas station 5 mins away has decent prices.

The best thing about this campground is the location to the Roosevelt,'s homes, Vanderbilt Mansion and Staastburg. All are worth a visit. The best thing about this campground is the location to the Roosevelt,'s homes, Vanderbilt Mansion and Staastburg. All are worth a visit. The campground is haphazardly arranged and mainly suitable for tents. A large RV would have a real problem. It wasn't full when I was there so I had plenty of space around me. Bathroom is funky and not overly clean. I'd stay again because of the location. Man at checkin was very nice.

When you enter this park it is great. Wide, new roads. Good signage. Then you get to the campground. I don’t think they have improved it for many years. Roads are pretty narrow, but not terrible. The campsites are not good for large rigs. Only a few we fit into. Very muddy, no gravel. Large drops from road to campsites. Weird ang... more
When you enter this park it is great. Wide, new roads. Good signage. Then you get to the campground. I don’t think they have improved it for many years. Roads are pretty narrow, but not terrible. The campsites are not good for large rigs. Only a few we fit into. Very muddy, no gravel. Large drops from road to campsites. Weird angles to get into sites. We stayed here one night only because there were no other choices in area and we needed to stay close to National Park sites here. Bathrooms were old and needed upgrading as well.

I couldn't shower there because the shower curtains were broken and no dressing room. I would have had to get dressed in front of everyone using the toilets. Showers were dirty too Campsites were too close together and ground was very uneven. Canpground roads were too narrow to get two cars on the road at the same time
