We stayed here in our 38’ Motorhome with toad. We had no trouble making turns or getting into our spot. We did not even unhook our toad. We were in a pull thru spot. The park is right next to the water, so pretty. They have electric and water but no sewer. The trains were distant and not noisy and the highway noise was far enough away ... more

The park is right next to the water, so pretty. They have electric and water but no sewer. The trains were distant and not noisy and the highway noise was far enough away to not be distracting.

Overall Rating
Decent campground next to John Day river near where it joins the Columbia River. Sites 1-8 are parallel to the river, $35. Sites 9-22 are back in, $30. All 1/2 off with golden age pass. Water, electric & dump station. A "hair-pin" curve in the road might be tight for large rigs. Some noise from nearby freeway.

Another review mentioned "no potable water". All RV sites have water spigots and we thought the water tasted fine. No signs signifying that the water was not potable. Dump station area has a spigot labeled potable water. We also filled our fresh water tank before leaving. While we did see the 1 bar Verizon signal listed in other reviews, we could only text on our 2 phones and that was not reliable. No data access on our phone or jetpack. A cell signal app I have on my phone showed signal level at about -125 which is well into the red or very weak level. Probably would work if you have a cell signal amplifier. We pretty much agree with comments from other reviewers about the campground amenities or lack of.

We arrived later in the evening and camphost directed us to site #8 on the water as it's the first come first serve spot. Beautiful park and gracious host who was very helpful. Only drawback is no potable water. Electric and dump station in parking lot. With NPAP nightly $17.

This park is ok for 1 night while in route, longer if you fish or have a boat. Next to I-84 and a railroad. It was noisy, although not as bad as I was expecting at night.

We had an issue at check-in but in the end it was a fun two day stay. Nice dump as you enter with lots of turning radius. Great large parking lot for boat trailers. We usually overnight here on our way to/from home. It is a small park, usually occupied by fisher/boaters. There is swim area, boat launch, and public restrooms, none of which we have used. We usually overnight here on our way to/from home. It is a small park, usually occupied by fisher/boaters. There is swim area, boat launch, and public restrooms, none of which we have used. We prefer the pull thru's. If none available, we dry camp in the public parking lot which is huge for the area. (Accessable even if campground is closed) There is some noise from the freeway or trains (no horns) but not enough to bother. We will continue to use this as a stopover on our way somewhere else.

Last minute pick because we wanted electricity. Hot! Wished we had been told that the pull through sites were on the water/river when asked if we wanted a back in or pull through site. We chose the back-in because it $5 cheaper. It was clean, quiet, no privacy between sites, it was dry looking location.

I have a reservation for 14 days at Le Page Park in May 2023. I received an email from recreation.gov that states, “ Important Update for LEPAGE PARK
This is an update related to your Recreation.gov reservation at LEPAGE PARK. The dates affected are 4/13/2023 - 10/15/2023.
LePage & Plymouth Campground Water Notice: Due to intermittent water disruptions, water is not potable. Please fill your tanks and bring drinking water before arrival. If using water from the campground, water must be boiled before use.”

Was disappointed to find the campground portion of the park was closed in early April. The day use facilities looked nice. Went further west down the highway and stayed at Rufus Landing which was excellent.
