In my defense, I obviously didn’t know what a 5 star dispersed camping site looked like.
I do now.
Everything was perfect.
Beautiful water, great fishing, towns close, the road isn’t bad, just a shame to leave. I wish I could’ve given it 10 stars. Cant wait to come back.

The sunsets were amazing. It was peaceful before and after the holiday weekend. Remember you must work a little bit for this view but omg so worth it. Water and dump available at Antelope Flats just across the reservoir, for 7.00 fee. Only reason 4 stars on noise is some boat traffic and weekenders. Verizon could stream with booster.

Our 2WD van made it no problem but lord the noise of it rattling down the long washboard road was not for the faint of heart. The reward at the end was totally worth the patience. Water was a bit low in early October but still pretty to sit and enjoy. Couple of other campers in the area but all were quiet and out of site.

We were tent camping and the windy was crazy at night, I’m glad none of our things blew away. With the wind, came dust. By the end of the day my eyes were in so much pain.
The water was cold but that didn’t stop our dog from swimming. We even got in a little bit as well.
The road in was quite bumpy (washboard) and long (~5 miles) but we made it no problem in an Acura RDX with bikes in tow.

The road in is definitely rough, and long (~5 miles) but we made it down just fine in an Acura RDX with bikes in tow.
We had great cell service and managed to watch Monday night football out there. The water was cold but that didn’t stop our dog from swimming.

The beach is rocky and the water is COLD but we loved it. There were a few boaters and people fishing in the distance, but it didn’t seem very crowded. The drive in is a ROUGH few miles down a washboard road. We made it in our 2wd van, but I have no clue how those big rigs make it down (there were plenty when we arrived)!

We drove out to the tip of the peninsula using the coordinates listed for this place, but with the wind and less than great access to the water for our canoe, we drove back a little ways. Stayed in the small bay on the south side of the peninsula, where there’s an island a short ways offshore. A perfect spot for us. We were at 40.985357 -109.546894.
There were a number of rigs at Jug Hollow, but plenty of room to spread out. We had trees buffering us from our neighbors. It was a little noisier than we’re used to, but we thought that the location was worth it. We were able to launch the canoe right from the silt beach by our camp, and the bay was easy to paddle around, without getting out in the deeper lake with the power boats.
Coming from the south, we filled our water tank at the RV threaded water fill at Firefighters Memorial Campground On Highway 191 near Dutch John. My husband took a guided fly fishing trip down the Green River with Collin Carlson of Old Moe guide service. Caught many fish (catch and release) and had the time of his life!
We had good cell coverage and internet access off our AT&T hotspot. We were also lucky to see the herd of pronghorn that live on the peninsula.
Do watch the wind. Came up every afternoon, and one evening we had a gust that lifted our staked-down Clam dome and threw it into the bushes. We guess it was 40+ mph. Only lasted a couple minutes. The dome was fine, after we spent an hour untangling it!
Traveling north from here, we used a dump station in Green River WY. The one at the Maverik gas station was closed, but they kindly referred us to a free one at Green River’s municipal horse corrals, 220 E. Teton Blvd.

Plenty of spots all along the road leading out to the peninsula. We camped at the very end. Evenings can be windy but the morning was beautiful and the wind had calmed down. The road in was decent and just had to take it slow with the wash boarded road. Several big rigs so no problem the size of your vehicle.

The area is very crowded, so privacy wasn’t abundant. The night skies were very dark, and it was a great place to look at the comet NEOWISE, which was relatively faint.
We were next to someone with an Open-Frame Generator, so it was very noisy, as it was running 24/7.
With cell service, we had 1-4 bars with or without a cell booster, but almost all of it was nearly unusable.

Kid friendly , dog friendly. The reservoir was great for kayaking. Boats & jets skis were in abundance.
A beautiful place we would highly recommend.
