Our site was the handicap site and it was very nice and level. There was electric and water on site with a dump station upon departure. Site was level and there were butterflies everywhere!

Stayed for 1 very warm evening. 30 amp and A/C did the trick! Nice lake, but rocky coastline makes access tricky. Clean bathrooms and showers. Bring your leveling blocks - most sites near the water are sloped.

As I've noted in prior reviews I am in general a fan of ACE campgrounds. As I've noted in prior reviews I am in general a fan of ACE campgrounds. This one did not disappoint although it was a bit more rustic than others I've visited, not that that is necessarily a bad thing. The large electric loop with 60+ sites are big rig friendly for the most part. Campsites start off back from the shore and gently slope down towards the water. The campground is open but completely shaded with tall trees. As you get closer to the water, the sites get less level; most people seemed to manage OK. The park was less than 1/3 filled on the Monday-Wednesday I was there and equally quiet. The trees were great for hammocks to enjoy the cool breezes off the water by day and all the noises of summer at night. As prior reviewers have noted, the water spigots were not as closely placed as one might hope so definitely getting a fill before you set up your site is a great idea. The hosts and volunteers were out and about each day and check-in and check-out were a breeze. The lake and coves on either side of the campground are great for floating and SUP. GREAT T-Mobile signal and lots of TV stations. There is a good Apple Market and other stores at the intersection of Hwy 88 and 169 just 2 miles up the road. This is Will Rogers country so be sure to check out his birthplace ranch a bit north as well as the museum in Claremore. The sweet little Claremore MTB Park is only 20 minutes away.

We had previously tent camped on the other side of Hawthorn Bluff but now trying out the RV park, we had a pretty good experience. The sites were clean and pretty large. We got a pull-thru and most other sites were back-in only. Our side happened to not be very level and we actually could not level all the way, but most sites looked pretty good - I think 61 was just bad luck for leveling. The power was only 30amp and we would prefer 50, but it worked well since the weather was fairly cool.
Getting in and around at the campground was pretty easy. The streets going through were one-way and we have a big rig, but we were able to make it with just a little bit of being nervous.
It is a shared water setup where we had to break out the long hose and fill the tanks a bit and just the dump station on the way out which we did not use since we were only staying for 2 nights.
The camp hosts were friendly and close by. They drove around often and even when our own kids and the kids next to us were a bit loud at 10pm on Saturday night, they came over to nicely ask us to keep it down. I actually appreciated that because if we were on the side of hearing loud people, I would expect the hosts to do the same to them.
Bathrooms were nice. Toilets on one side and 4 individual showers on the other. I liked the individual shower setup (water did not stay hot the whole time, but was still okay).
Really good nature trail and the water was a bit high that day but if it had not been, the views of the lake and the fishing dock were very convenient.
Overall - I would stay again and would look for a more level site and pre-fill my water.
