Have stayed here several times in the past and have always really enjoyed it but this was our first time with a camper. All previous stays have been tenting. This is a huge campground with I believe over 300 sites. This stay we were all the way in the back and it is night and day different experience from being up near the entry. The entry seems to be much louder with a party crowd. In the back was super quiet and the spaces were huge. The pads in the back are all extremely level and fresh asphalt. Showers and washrooms are only a two minute walk which is nice. They have firewood and all the typical camp store items available. Showers are $.25 for 5 minutes and very nice and always clean. Only draw back is no sewer connection and with only 20 gallon tanks it is tough after a few days if the weather is bad and you don’t want to always walk to the restrooms. Otherwise this was a fantastic stay!

Staff is cheerful and happy to help. They have Pat showers, $.25 for five minutes, okay bathrooms. Campers are mostly pleasant, since boisterous, with no supervision. Overall, not bad.

The place was totally packed as well as every pavilion which had parties going on. Sites only had electric and water, with a central dump station. Had to find our way to our site, wasn't really even shown how to get there. When pressed on where the site was they seemed kinda irritated to have to explain.
Would not come back here again.

First of all, this is an enormous campground with hundreds of sites for RVs and tents. It's right on the Mississippi River and its adjacent marshes. On weekdays it was half empty, but it was packed during the weekend with local campers towing boats and jetskis. Many of the RVs there look like they are permanent or seasonal residents, but in general they were tidy. None of the sites have sewer, but they have a mix of 30 and 50-amp electric, and some with water. There are a few bath houses, but the two at the south end of the park are new, large, and clean (25 cents for four minutes of shower), while the north one can best be described as "rustic". It's a 1.4 mile round-trip walk from our site to the south bath house, so we ended up driving for our showers, a first for us. The park is very dog friendly, and we never ran out of places to walk our active dog. We also found plenty of places where he could go for a quick swim in the river. Verizon and AT&T worked very well in the campground, but AT&T in general was spotty in La Crosse, going from 4 bars LTE to "no signal" just a half mile from the campground. The camp hosts we met were very friendly and helpful. One word of warning: the roads in La Crosse are some of the worst we've ever encountered. The 10 mile drive on WI-35 to get to the campground shook our motorhome mercilessly. In general, it's a nice family-friendly campground. If we return to La Crosse someday we'd consider staying here again.
