Pull in car camping sites with lots of privacy. Didn’t have the best Verizon service but could send texts. Bathrooms were nice and it was quiet at night. Was pretty full but did have a few spots open when I got there at 5pm.

Very nice and quiet campground, not much people at this time of the year. All big trees around campsite, big RV may have difficulty to park in, totally 35 sites. Host is very helpful.

Great spot, much better then the state and national parks around. No showers but firewood is cheap and plentiful. Spots are small but much more privacy then I thought.

We had a great time here. Lots of majestic redwood trees that create privacy between sites. A variety of different sized sites......many big enough for our 20 foot trailer. The camp host was super helpful and nice. Great playground and easy trails through the forest. The trails have many cute bridges over the creek that runs trough the park. Very beautiful. No hook ups or showers so you are completely dry camping although they do have lots of water spouts throughout the campground. They have bathrooms and many porta potties although we did not use any of them. No dump station.

Obviously the State parks were packed. We found this place and it was perfect for us. Sites were clean and well maintained. They were fairly private and our site had trails off of it through the redwoods. Our 6 year old loved the big park with slides, swings and horseshoes after the long day on the road. While the hosts lived in an old bus with a slightly messy site and looked like they were doing a major overhaul on a quad, they were very friendly and seemed like good folks. Actually looked like they may permanently live there. Only complaint I had was it sounded like there were some knarly dog fights a few times. Park was quiet after 9pm until we left the next morning at 8am. Overall, this was a great last minute find. Very spotty Verizon service in the redwoods.

The sites themselves are nice.. large trees and well maintained fire rings and picnic tables. The ocean, smith river and Redwoods are all within 10-20 minutes away. This is fist come first serve and we were one of 4 sites taken. We chose this park mostly because Jedidiah State Campground reservations were full.
We would stay here again for use as a launching spot to see other sites in the area.

We pulled into this campground with the full intention of staying a week in order to explore the Redwoods area. We knew it was going to be tight when we pulled our rig in, and found spots that would of been tight but doable. This campground is in a beautiful location, just about picture perfect. HOWEVER!!!!!!.........we chose to move on due to the circumstances of the other campers, especially the one parked directly across from the camp host site. This guy with his family had heaps of garbage bags growing over the top of his cab (about 20 bags), like they had been camped there for a month. The camp host site itself was not inviting, therefore we decided we didn't want to trust having our camper sit unattended for long periods of time there. We ended up going to Panther Flat USFS campground on 199, and had a perfect stay. Its hard to judge a place without staying there, but its not often they I choose to move on due to the behaviors being allowed around a campground. These are public spaces that are to be shared, and not made for people to be uncomfortable by your actions.

The setting was beautiful with nice trails and water spigots everywhere. I did see what appeared to be a couple homeless folks, but they kept to themselves. The place was very clean and quiet, too. If it had a dump station, it would easily be 5 stars!
