The perfect easy on and off overnight stop right off I-80. Very clean, friendly, and organized. The pad was gravel but level. The only downside was the traffic noise but that was expected next to the interstate. We will stay here again.

Probably two of the nicest husband and wife owner's we've met. She called to confirm reservation and our ETA, planned on being there for our arrival and he took us right to our site and asked if we needed any help. Seemed like a great young couple and the improvements to the park they were making seemed really good. Very level spots with full hookups, dog friendly and good WIFI. Sites were larger than most Journey sites. I80 was very busy, but inside rig, we hardly noticed.

The campground host was super nice and helpful. We were concerned about a “buddy site” being your door opening to the neighbor next to you but it was plenty big enough. We had full hook ups and the pad was gravel and fully level. The sounds of I80 were of concern when you are outside of your RV but ok inside. All in all, great place to... more

Yes it is right along HWY 80 so guess what when you are outside you will hear the HWY noise. But inside our 5th wheel we did not really notice the noise and slept well.

They don’t have a pool but for us that wasn’t a big deal.
One last thing, the owners are really good people.

This was an OK KOA as far as they go. This was an OK KOA as far as they go. The landscaping was nice, but the fresh gravel (interior roads and site pads) was placed over a soft, sticky mud base (I don't know how to spell it, but in the southwest it is pronounced kuh-lee-jee) which, after a good rainstorm, it became swampy soft to walk in and RV's left large ruts in the gravel/mud. They created some very nice premium sites with patios and even their own personal K9 outdoor kennel areas. Non-membership type campgrounds I can sort of understand the use and adherence to early check-in fees. But in a membership campground such as KOA's, I take issue with charging members for early check-in, especially in this case since Ogallala KOA was three quarters empty upon our being one hour early. They were adamant about charging us the $10, so being the hard-headed sort I am we drove off and waited the hour out. I almost wanted to give the park a 3 just based on that...

Great KOA facility right off of I-80 and conveniently adjacent to a TA Travel Center. Easy access, big rig friendly, full hookups. Campground clean and well maintained. Good location to day trip to several Oregon Trail historical sites. Owners friendly and helpful.
