We have never stayed at a campground that was so quiet and dark. NO traffic noise at all! People in the office were friendly. Pull thru space was large. Laundry was clean as well as the bathrooms. Did not use the shower. WiFi was OK. Verizon signal was 3 bars but couldn't use hotspot, no data.

The entire area is designated Dark Sky so all exterior lights have to be off by 9pm. The star gazing is spectacular! The park had great facilities - hot water showers, clean laundry and a swimming pool. Unfortunately, no hot tub. The WiFi was marginal at best, but they are currently installing fiber optic, so hopefully it will get much better. Cell signal was 1-3 bars 3G (AT&T). When the park filled up, both WiFi and cellular was pretty non-responsive. There were no OTA TV channels and only some sites had cable, which our site (#83) was not. Friendly front-office staff. You could also take part in the golf resort facilities, i.e., golfing, restaurant, bar, gift shop, spa, and zip line. We enjoyed a nice meal in the main restaurant. This is a great location if you want to explore both Big Bend Ranch State Park and Big Bend National Park.

One of the nicest RV Parks we have stayed in. While there in November 2019, the park had 17Mbs wifi. Two great hiking trails behind the park too. Great spot for photographing the stars at night.

We recently stayed at Maverick. It’s a well-kept RV Park, beautiful grounds, nice facilities. The staff was very friendly. We had a spot on the outside and our back window faced out to the mountains behind us. The view was incredible! The only downfall, it’s a drive to get into Big Bend. It took us 1 hour 20 minutes to get to Boquillas (opposite end of the park). After three days of back and forth trips, it got a little tiring. Too much time in the truck. I think if we would have stayed an extra day or two where we just stayed put for the day instead of heading to the park it would have been better for.

Good: The resort feels like an oasis in the desert. The restaurants on property are fantastic. We did several of the activities as well. We rented a Jeep for the day to explore the back roads of Big Bend. Prices were reasonable, under $200. We did the trail ride with our kid. The staff throughout the park were gracious and kind. We also did the combat course and loved it! To escape the heat we spent time in the excellent pool near the RV park as well as the comfortable club house with leather lounge chairs. The WIFI at the park was strong enough to work with video conferencing. (20 download/ 4.6 upload/ 70ms ping) There is also a business center in the main resort that has excellent internet with printer access. In the gas station on property you can reserve a pack lunch for the day at any pick up time. We could request our lunches be ready on our drive out to Big Bend and just pick it up on the way out. Super convenient! The spots are big with full hook ups. The park is a "dark" park so the stars at night are amazing!

We visited this area in April 2019 and were blown away (both literally and figuratively) by the scenery, flora and fauna. The RV park features widely spaced full hookup sites, mostly pull-through, situated head-to-tail. Only 24 of the sites have cable and the Wi-Fi is iffy, but the location and its surroundings more than makes up for the lack of digital entertainment. There isn't much shade (it's the desert after all), but the views of the surrounding hills are splendid. We had a site towards the back for the campground and it was super quiet. For dining experiences you can walk across the street to the Lajitas Ranch or drive 12 miles to the kitschy 'Starlight Theatre' restaurant in Terlingua Ghost Town (don't miss it!). The RV park has excellent laundry facilities, clubhouse and swimming pool, and the staff are friendly and helpful. This is a Dark Sky area and the night skies are absolutely stunning. We were there during a very windy period (even the locals commented on the extraordinary weather), but it didn't spoil our total enjoyment of this wonderfully remote part of Texas. We will be back!

Meanwhile, you also have access to full hookups, wi fi, a pool, laundry, beautiful bath house, and resort amenities, gym, store, and restaurant. It’s amazing that this is the most remote place we’ve ever stayed, but also one of the most comfortable and full-service.
You could get something a little cheaper in Terlingua, but it’s not that much more to stay here and have a first class stay in Big Bend. Our stay was cheaper (39/night) with weekly & AAA discounts.
15-20 minutes to restaurants in Terlingua
30-40 minutes to Big Bend NP gate, 55 to Panther Junction
Right next to the Big Bend Ranch SP entrance
Parts of the park are very parking lot-y, but request a back in site in the back row (the side book ended with 7 & 41) for amazing views & privacy.
One of the most underrated features of this park is its proximity to Big Bend Ranch SP. Don’t miss the opportunity for a scenic drive and hike in this park that is as beautiful as the NP, with far less people.
We chose this RV park primarily so we could continue to work during our visit. Getting good wi fi anywhere in Big Bend is hard but it was workable here. The wi fi is bad when the park is busy, and pretty unusable starting at 4PM daily, when people come back for the night. But we were able to work on the wi fi during the day, it just wasn’t the fastest & very low upload speeds. If it got really bad we had the option of going up to the resort where it was a bit better. We didn’t use our Verizon hotspot as we could sometimes get a little 3G extended network roaming, but no Verizon or LTE.

Stayed here while visiting Big Bend National Park, awesome location and RV Resort with access to the resort across the street. We were lucky to get a site (can't remember the number) at the back of the resort with nobody behind us. We drove in from the west along the Rio Grande but I would not recommend this for a gas class A towing a vehicle as some of the hills are EXTREMELY steep! My advice would be to drop down from Terlingua and come in from the east.

After experiencing the complete failure of the bureaucratic National Park, this private park in a resort town was a relief. We didn’t use the resort (horseback riding, golf, etc.) but instead used the park as a jumping off point to the State Park which had no camp spots left. Hookups were easy, pull through were huge, and the saloon had a couple good appetizers. Wifi was free and fast enough.
In my opinion, the SP was far superior the the NP. Better views, better trails, and better management.
