We stayed one night here. The views are the best. Be careful of sand as you get farther down towards beach. I pulled 3 people out. Lots of fun.

We stayed at Lone Rock for 2 nights, during the first week of April 2022. We stayed in the area just past the dump station. There are other areas, closer to the water, but we were leary of the sand.
Very happy with where we were, plenty of room. We had our fifth wheel and there were 5 or 6 other fifth wheels and smaller trailers in the same area. So, you will have neighbors here.
The water was still winterized, not sure when they will get it ready.
Dumpsters and dump were available.
Close to Page, AZ to enjoy the town.

We stayed in early March in the upper area near the dump station (was closed for the winter). It was a very good stay for us despite the low water levels. We stayed in early March in the upper area near the dump station (was closed for the winter). It was a very good stay for us despite the low water levels.
Things to note: It's really hard to tell where the water is supposed to be but the lake is somewhere around 50 ft low. Down where the water is supposed to be, there is very deep sand in places. I really do not recommend going there. The "normal" beach was pretty hard packed and really would have been a good place to stay even with the low water levels. There are many good trails to get down there that I did not feel were terribly sandy but it would be a good idea to park up near the dump station and walk your route. Look at google maps to determine where the water level is supposed to be and I don't recommend going that low.
With all that said, we stayed up higher (near the dump station) because we felt the view was better and we had pretty good Verizon coverage there which was good enough for us to work while we stayed there.
Dumping was free at Wahweap campground not far away even though the dump station was closed for the winter.

The views are amazing!!! But it was Soo windy I wasn't able to do much there. I wanted to kayak, even just sitting outside wasn't possible all but 1 afternoon. The views are amazing!!! But it was Soo windy I wasn't able to do much there. I wanted to kayak, even just sitting outside wasn't possible all but 1 afternoon. Great for views and the fact that it's free. The dump was great but water was still shut off for the winter. No one was ever in the guard station and no payment was ever due. Not sure if that changes over the summer or if they simply no longer man it.
I'm in a 44' 5th wheel, 20k lbs and no issue going down to the "beach" level. I say beach as there are many levels to this place, every time the water drops obviously more "beach" becomes visible. Big rigs will have no issue going to the RV beach level. Where all the RVs are, can't miss it. I highly suggest taking the main road down to the beach and to NOT go to the left like previous reviews. At all the dumpsters by the last building, you'll continue straight. There is a slight right and many lefts. Keep taking the road that was pavement but turns into dirt / sand. This was always the best route in and out all the days I stayed. You can park back at the dump station area and scout it out too. With as windy as it gets, even if I go back I'll still unhitch and scout.

Easy access from the main road. The drive on the gravel sand is about 1/4 mile of easy travel. RVs camp along the ridge overlooking Lake Powell which is about 300 yards away. Got to love the beautiful sunrises over Lake Powell

An excellent spot to use as a base camp to explore the Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. Mid March the camping is easy going with about 30 campers well spaced along to ridge. Great views of the beach and water.
There is a dump station in the site.

Beautiful views of Lone Rock and Wahweap Bay on Lake Powel!
The camping area is huge! I can’t imagine that it would ever be so busy that you would not be able to find a spot to park.
Access to the camping is straight forward and we easily made it with a 35' fifth wheel in tow. Follow the paved road until it runs out. There were dumpsters for trash at the end of the paved road and space to park if you want to scout out any of the routes to the beach before proceeding. There seemed to be three main routes and multiple smaller routes form the paved area. One straight, slight left and hard left. The best route was the slight left and was basically a gravel road and marked with orange cones. Hard left had more bumps and some sand. I would avoid going straight pulling/driving anything large although I did see some make it.
The upper beach area is hard packed gravel which can be easily traveled. So even if you don’t drive down in the area you want to camp you can drive to it. Avoid all sand as much as possible even on the upper beach area. I used 4x4 while off the pavement as a precaution but it really is not required.
If you want to go to one of the lower beach areas or more remote locations on the beach your chance of getting stuck will increase.
There is a dump station and fresh water when you enter the park. There is also a gravel parking area by the dump station if you want to avoid the beach altogether and any change of getting stuck.
