Mid June 2023 stay Nobody around stayed in what looked like a group site. Great sunset.
WMA website does not list this as camping site but we gave it a shot.
I emailed public relations to get clarity will update if I get a response.
ATT 5g strong and good bandwidth.

Flat grassy land, close to the highway surrounded by mountains. It was pretty quiet, we couldn't hear the highway at all and there was no one except us. Lots of cows around who most times leave you alone. We did have trouble getting out as the cows blocked the gate and one of them wanted to get out.

Pulling a 24” trailer. We stayed at the first large dispersed camping space and it was great for a night. Plenty of space to get in and turn around. It’s circular. Some traffic noise but not terrible. If you go further down the road I’m sure it’s less noise but the road gets more rutted the further you go. The second dispersed spot we ... more
Pulling a 24” trailer. We stayed at the first large dispersed camping space and it was great for a night. Plenty of space to get in and turn around. It’s circular. Some traffic noise but not terrible. If you go further down the road I’m sure it’s less noise but the road gets more rutted the further you go. The second dispersed spot we walked to and it’s large enough we could have put our rig there and easily got out but it’s a bit rougher.
Definitely make sure to close the gate and secure it. The cows went to it two different times during our one night stay and if we hadn’t locked it they would have gotten out.

This is a wonderful stopover! Yes there is a cattle gate to close when you first come in. Our 35’ diesel pusher with a tow vehicle was about as much as I would want to bring here. There is some highway noise but it’s not awful by any means.
4bars of 5G phone as well with T-Mobile.
I can see two others about 1/2 mile further in but I’m very happy with the spot I have.

We tried to park in the big open area at the entrance but there was another travel trailer there telling us to find another space because it was not acceptable to park next to them even though it was only for the night. The couple was extremely rude and threaten to let their dogs out. We left as we didn’t feel safe there. Who knows wha... more

Opened the gate and had the place to ourselves for the night. Amazing views. You can hear the highway but it’s not bad. Found a level spot to the right shortly after you pull in.

Be sure to close gate after yourself. There are a few sites before the road gets bad, someone used road when really muddy and left huge ruts running in all directions, making it impossible for lower clearance vehicles to navigate. Drove jeep back to other sites and found some nice ones, unfortunately not everyone is cleaning up after themselves. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR TRASH IN FIREPITS!

I’m glad i read the reviews saying to go through the gate. There were no cows but some beautiful views. Highway traffic doesn’t bother me, so no comment there. A couple of other campers were here too bit it’s very spread out. The road coming was rutted and bumpy enough that I scraped bottom once but not too bad. I would stop here... more
