The location is convenient but it’s noisy because of the traffic. The price is reasonable. Check in went smoothly. The location is convenient but it’s noisy because of the traffic. The price is reasonable. Check in went smoothly. Here’s what would keep me from coming back: the bathhouse is filthy, if someone uses the bathhouse your water pressure drops, the campground is overgrown with vegetation, the cabins are in disrepair, and there is an overall sense of despair.

This is a very small park on the owner's home property right in town. It is next to a school bus garage, so during school days it can be quite noisy early morning and afternoons. The showers are cold water and have a mold smell. I couldn't use them. Husband tried but said the hot water doesn't work. So, he didn't use them. The internet... more
This is a very small park on the owner's home property right in town. It is next to a school bus garage, so during school days it can be quite noisy early morning and afternoons. The showers are cold water and have a mold smell. I couldn't use them. Husband tried but said the hot water doesn't work. So, he didn't use them. The internet is very spotty at best. TV reception does pick up a couple stations. It is a great spot for Voyageurs National Park. Also, just a few blocks from Canada.

Overall this s a good place to camp for Voyageurs NP. It is an older RV park, right in town with tightly spaced campsites. It is an older RV park, right in town with tightly spaced campsites. A bit on the noisy side, especially road noise from nearby roads but things quieted down at night.
Payment is cash or check only.
Telephone reservations only - not online.
The bathhouse is adequate but in need of repair, if not a total remodel.
If it wasn’t for its proximity to Voyageurs, I probably wouldn’t recommend this place.

Stayed 2 weeks in late June 2023. Site type: Pull through, 50 Amps FHU with grass Site #15 THE GOOD Sites: Good amount of space. THE GOOD
Sites: Good amount of space. With the trees that provide shade, it does make the site feel a bit tighter than it is.
Grounds: Clean and well-maintained.
Gas/Food: Gas, groceries, and restaurants just a few minutes away.
Voyageurs NP: 20 min from Rainy Lake Visitor Center and 40 min from Ash River Visitor Center.
THE BAD:
None that come to mind.
WORTH NOTING (Not good or bad)
Payment: Cash or check only. Be prepared.
Connectivity: Campground WiFi is available but not strong enough for us to work on it.
Sites: Not anything great. Grass and some space. So, it's the only reason I don't give it a 5 star.

Very close to town with a multi use trail right in front leading to town. Bathroom was clean. Small, but has a dump station.
They take cash only, so arrive prepared.

The owner was very nice and helpful! The campground was small and accommodating. We did not use the bath house. We were in site 9 which was very nice, private, backing up to the woods, lots of shade, no one beside us on our picnic side. Picnic table and fire pit provided. We had w/e and there’s a dump station! We were in site 9 which was very nice, private, backing up to the woods, lots of shade, no one beside us on our picnic side. Picnic table and fire pit provided. We had w/e and there’s a dump station! The only negative I will mention is the WiFi was sporadic.

Only drawback here was it rained for 4 out of the 7 nights we stayed. He does only take cash, so plan accordingly. Otherwise, had a good time there with full hook up. Firewood was $10 for a heaping full wheel barrel and restaurants were close. On the second day, our surge protector kept shutting off and when we told him, he had it looked at and fixed quickly. Gravel site, with centrally located, clean bath house. Did not use as we had full hook up. Sites are close together, but only had at most 9 other campers at one time, so did not feel crowded.

Rustic little park but good base for Voyageur's NP. Interior dirt roads, as everyone else notes, are tough with 40 footer, let alone with your toad still attached. Thick tree cover prohibits satellite reception. The stretch of Hwy. 53 at the front driveway was currently closed to traffic, under construction. Back entry off 1st Av. was ... more

Thick tree cover prohibits satellite reception. The stretch of Hwy. 53 at the front driveway was currently closed to traffic, under construction. Back entry off 1st Av. was the only way in. FHU's worked nice on gravel site. I would attach numerous photos except Campendium's system for attaching photos is messed up for tech-challenged folks like me.

Overall Rating
Enjoyed stay; friendly staff. Clean level sites. Lots of big trees. Somewhat noisy due to road work near by but soon in & out will be great when road improvements complete. Rode bikes to downtown. Had great Italian meal at Sammy’s. Visited Voyeurs NP at Rainy Lake.
