Very nice campground! We ended up with a pull-thru spot which was very nice. Spots are paved and level. Could see glimpses of the lake through the trees behind our spot. No cell phone service on AT&T, which was a great excuse to turn the phone off. Will definitely stay again!

Our site was level, had water and electricity and only 3 other campers were in our part of the campground on a Sunday night. We did have a curious raccoon visit in the middle of the night who crawled on top of our propane tank cover and fell off waking us up. LOL! No harm done. :-)

Barely any cell reception and our hotspot was hit and miss. No TV reception, so read a good book .
A very nice park and worth your time to see.

We overnighted at this state park and we really surprised at how nice it is. The ranger at the visitors center for checking in was super nice. They offer fire wood on site and have a nice gift shop with some basic grocery staples. There is also a very nice educational museum on site. We opted for a 30 amp site in the first loop and were very happy with it. The sites are spaced far enough apart and are sufficiently level. The bathrooms were clean and had plenty of hot water.
There are 50 amp sites in the other loops and a lot of horse stables on site, if that is your thing. The ranger at check in said that there are vendors available to bring horses out for riding if you ask, just give them a day or two notice to schedule it.
The campground has miles and miles of multi-use trails that are great for hiking and biking.
Cell service, with our booster, was just barely even there... not enough to even use, so don't plan on having internet or making phone calls. You can drive to the front entrance and get a decent signal for calling.

This park is also a real plus for horse lovers. They have spots to trailer your horse in, stables to use and according to some local riders, wonderful trails to ride and explore. Wish I had a horse to ride here!
We didn't have any cell service or satellite. The satellite might be available at certain sites within the park if you can find a spot without trees. It was wonderful to be still and enjoy nature without tv or cell phones.
The young lady who checked us in was super nice and friendly. We will stay here again whenever we travel this way.

We reserved online a night at Village Creek State Park while traveling through the area. The park is 14 miles north off Interstate 40 from Forest City off the Crowly Ridge Scenic Byway and 5 miles south of Wynne, Arkansas. Our Garmin GPS had no problem navigating there. We arrived after dark on a Saturday and someone had taken our campsite although there was a reserve sign on the post. After talking to them and showing them my confirmed reservation on my phone they agreed to vacate our campsite. The campsite was very large, had water and 30 amp electric and there was a dump station. The park is also large and offers many family activities such as tennis, fishing and hiking trails. There is also a nice visitors center with a gift store. We watched 2 short films there in the theater about the Trail of Tears and also one of the geology history of Crowly Ridge. Our Verizon signal only came in at 1 bar of 1X which is unusable but with our Weboost Cellular Booster we had 3 bars of 4G, good enough for Internet browsing and streaming Youtube. Check out time is a generous 3 PM and we would recommend you reserve before going there especially on a weekend day.

We camped with a large group here for the weekend. Most of the sites there are level and a good distance apart from others. There are a few that are not very level but they are best suited for tents anyway with raised terraces. There are two loops with all sites on the outside edge of the loops making this small campground feel very "uncrowded" even when full. The center areas are open grass fields that are perfect for the kids to run, play soccer or baseball, etc. There are also a few good mountain biking/hiking trails and some horseback riding trails as well. Some trails are limited to hiking or biking and some are multi-use trails. The park also has ranger-led activities on a lot of weekends. The weekend we were there they had a ranger-led nature hike, an education session on local spiders, and a dutch oven demonstration. The staff is friendly and helpful. Little/No cell service is refreshing, requiring you to "unplug" for a little while.
