Great free place to stay if wanting to climb in the Happy and Sad Boulders and the ‘pit’ is packed. Awesome views but can get pretty windy up there

Perfect free sites right outside the south entrance to the park. Fair warning a lot of big groups like to meet here and party. Fell asleep listening to 2 guys in a screaming match about a beer pong rule

Huge open dry lake bed with lots of permanent homeless encampments scattered about. Can get EXTREMELY windy as well. Been camping for a couple months and this is the only place I’ve gone that I wouldn’t stay again

"Off the beaten path with a view"
Great camping overlooking Lake Mead. Suggest going as far back as possible as the sites are less crowded. We were able to park right on the point of an isolated ridge overlooking the lake. Roads can get very sandy or have a ton of loose gravel

Awesome camping location right on the edge of the lake. Tons of people camp here on an open gravel/sand so as long as you know that going into it it will be a great experience. Bathrooms provided

Definitely stay here if in the area. Only a few sites along this road (maybe 8) so get there sooner rather than later. Drive all the way to the end of the road if open for a view down to the river

Beautiful location and great that there are tons of free sites off the road. Unfortunately there are hundreds and hundreds of people in RV’s, vans, and tents so it can get very crowded. Suggest driving as far back as possible or down the other...
