Went here in the fall. Very pretty lake and kid friendly playground. Beware there was lots of mud here and some sites are too close together. A little busy and noisey campground.

We went here after going to the Delaware beaches. It's not too far of a drive, and the next day we took another short drive to Ocean City Maryland. We went here after going to the Delaware beaches. It's not too far of a drive, and the next day we took another short drive to Ocean City Maryland.
It's a nice rustic park that you can kayak on the lake. The sites are a bit close together, but our site had some good privacy.
We came in at night which they allow (unlike some other parks which close the gates at a certain time) but had a problem. It was very dark, and we ended up swiping a small stump which was next to our electric hookup. Better signage would have helped us avoid it IMHO.

Stayed here 3/31/2018 with a reservation. Good thing as park was full for the weekend.Our site faced into the woods and was a drive thru loop. Loop was a little tight but space was unlimited on side away from road. Had 30 amp & water. Not much privacy for the sites on the inside of the loop. They have 2 dump stations and sell firewood.... more

Men's bathhouse was under repair only one shower of three working.
Would be a good place early or late in the season. Open all year I think.

When we pulled up I was excited to see excited to see that Delaware State parks had won some national award for "Gold Medal of Excellence." I don't think campground layout was part of the judging.
In all fairness, the campground provided what we were looking for in a stop for the night, namely electric hook-ups. After a long hot loud night at our last place we wanted both the coolness and background noise of the ac. The 30 amp hook-ups provided that.
Besides the electricity, other positives were water hook-ups at the site, very clean sites, clean enough bath house with free showers, and friendly staff and campground hosts. There was also one washer ($2/load) and dryer ($1.50/load) with a sign to use liquid detergent only. A dump station is available. Finally, a free bicycle loaner program that we didn't use, but seems like a nice idea.
The disappointing part of the campground is the layout. Three of the loops (A, B, and C) are back in sites that are all close together. There are a lot of trees around, but no privacy and a lot of closeness. Loop D had pull through crescent shaped sites which were slightly better than the other loops, but still close together. Large rigs, Class A, large trailers or long 5th wheels would be to long for Loop D. All of these loops had electric and water. A final area was a tent camping area without electric and water. I didn't check out that area. There are also cabins available.
The campground was pretty loud in the evening sounding like a children's carnival. At least the kids were laughing and having fun but it was still going well past quiet hours.
We camped in Aug 2016.
