We only stayed one night back in early September. The campground has some water/electric sites, even fewer full service sites and many tent or no service sites. The sites by the water do not allow dogs. We never interacted with staff. Due to a reservation, we went directly to our site which was level and close to bathroom and water.

We stayed two nights, Friday and Saturday. There was no one at check-in at 4:30pm, we went directly to our site. The site was difficult to back into due to the angle of the road and trees. The campground was not full, but the sites near the restrooms were all taken. Many tent campers. Opposite us, sites 14 and 16 was a large family/friend group, and they had other family/friends camping close by. Everyone congregated at site 16, very loud music all day, the men were drinking and playing some card games, talking very loudly. I saw 1 or 2 park rangers drive by, but they didn't notice the music or red cups in the men's hands. There was no camp host. One man asked if the music was too loud around 7 pm and we said yes, but the music was only lowered for a few minutes. The music stopped around 10 pm, but loud chanting started around 11 and screaming at 12 midnight. We didn't want to call the rangers as we felt they would ask them to leave and then we could have been targeted.
I called the office the next day and was told by the manager that I should have called, that he was driving by many times during the day in an unmarked car (fast with the windows rolled up) and he didn't notice a problem. He also said there was a camp host and I corrected him saying there was not a camp host there. I was told there was nothing he could do after the event, everything I said was hearsay.
The music and noise made our stay very unpleasant, and I will never stay there again. I realize that the other campers in the campground do change the experience and I should have called the rangers when the music level didn't change after we were asked if it was too loud. Lesson learned. People who live in large cities tend to go to campgrounds close by. These people were not there for the nature and beach.
The bathrooms were filthy. There was one washer and dryer.

Clean bathrooms with showers and laundry facilities. Remember it is in the mountains. Mountains are not flat. Be prepared to do a lot of leveling of your RV. Only complaint. Web site and reservation site says don’t bring in outside fire wood due to insect infestation. Understand and agree. But they did not have any firewood for sale anywhere. Had to go in town to get wood. We were in a pet friendly site. #21. Best site we saw was #17. It was wide and deep.

The place is close to the highway so it is a good place for a night stop without going away too far from the road. We didn’t see any bear but the rangers say that there were some very often around the campground.

This was a great spot. We were very happy with our site. It was large and felt private. The bathroom was clean and easy to get to.
The trails were well maintained and the hiking was great. There were a lot of options. The Lakeside hike (5.1 miles) was great. I also took the hike to the creek, which was great as well.

We opted for an electric site, but it is dry camping so no water available. Park was pretty empty while we were there which was nice. Bath houses were very clean. We enjoyed walking to the lake and seeing all the wildlife around. Cell service for AT&T was weak, my husband had better luck with his Verizon phone. Would definitely stay again.

When I was 11 years old I encouraged my dad to take us camping. He obliged and bought a popup Nimrod. He then built a camp kitchen and stocked it well. Mom sewed on zippers for a screen room and an awning. Our weekend campouts were often spent at Tobyhanna St Pk. I remember dirt campsites, dusty dirt roads and lots of scrub trees not much taller than I was back then. No longer the story, happily. It might be because of the corona virus that delayed park openings but the place was green and grassy site where exposed to sun were abundant such as our site 60. We arrived during a busy Friday evening and all sites were sold out. Good thing I had reserved two days prior. The Pocono weather was warm during the days and the furnace ran a bit during the mid 40* nights. Black bears were frequent visitors so keep a clean camp if you go. I live in black bear country and there is usually no need to be intimidated by them. My 3 year old grandson enjoyed watching them and the easy hikes throughout the park. There is a beach which was open the weekend (Jun 12+) but there were some fellows with a bit too much testosterone driving their vocabulary south and our DIL left with our grandson. We stayed on Monday night and enjoyed a peaceful afternoon and slept in the next morning. One could hear the bugle playing mess and taps at their respective times from the nearby Army Dept. It was a nice update to old memories when my brothers and I used to romp through the scrub woods that have now matured to a full canopy of typical NEPA Pocono Plateau regrowth.

I was pleasantly surprised by this state park. We stayed during the week at the end of May. Last stop before going back home from a few weeks out on the road. Nice campsite, electric, lots of trees, quiet, privacy, clean bathroom, nice showers...Enjoyed the 5 mile trail around the lake.
