This is a somewhat primitive park that is still recovering from hurricane damage. Most sites are sand, some are grass and we saw one that is concrete. When we made reservations, we were aware that we made them for 1 night in each of 2 different sites. Once we got there, we saw that the sites were right next to each other and were totally identical. After the first night we complied with the rules to re-register by 10 a.m. the next day. At that time we asked if we couldn't stay in the site we were in & were denied. The site we were to occupy for the 2nd night was not occupied but we were not permitted to move into it because the ranger had not reported to the registration office that it was empty. The weather turned and we ended up having to relocate after the sand had turned into mud.
We think it would be appropriate, no, necessary for the park to stipulate to the trash collection company hours that are acceptable for them to be slamming dumpsters that are not during the quiet time hours that campers have to comply with. 6:30 a.m. is NOT acceptable.
There is a large parking area on the way to the campground and boat ramp that made loading and unloading a car dolly a breeze.
This is a nice enough campground but there are some significant administrative issues that need attention.

We started a fire and watch an outdoor movie and the deers made another appearance right behind us. We feed the deers from our own hands.. super cool. We also had steaks first dinner. The next morning, we woke up to a beautiful sunrise.. shortly after.. we biked to the beach.. wow .. Beautiful Beaches!! Super clean and natural!! Shortly after, Andrew and I went out with the e-bikes in the beach.. Super cool.. Overall, this place is beautiful, bathrooms and showers were very clean and the people here are very friendly. Looking forward to coming back.. I would recommend this place to everyone!!

I am heading west to the southwest US. I have had enough of the southeast.

St. Andrews park is a beautiful state park with plenty of on site activities. Unfortunately, our stay was during the red tide bloom and it made the beach very un-attractive. Site #13 is situated in front of a dune and receives almost full shade from oak trees. We are tent campers and are not accustomed to having large RV's on either side of us. It made us feel a little boxed in. The facilities are maintained very well. The beach and lagoon area is very beautiful. Overall it was a great experience and we will camp here again.

Just be sure and look at the site pictures on website or review Park roads with Google Earth. We unhooked our toad at the Visitor's Center which was helpful. No sewer connections, but the water and electric were good. Bathhouses were clean and newer. We enjoyed walking on the beaches, hiking dune trails, visiting the wildlife viewing areas, visiting the small museum inside the Visitor's Center, and of course many things to do in the surrounding area. Campers were friendly and respectful. There were a lot of 4-wheelers in use.

OTA television was excellent, as was Verizon.
We would definitely come back.

Even though we came in winter and it was chilly, we appreciated the place. We were able to work efficiently, run everyday and enjoy life!
The staff was also very kind when we checked-in. Nothing negative to say about this place!
Also, you can have access to Wi-fi with a subscription. Unlimited for 4,95$/day or 9,95$ for 3 days, a deal!
A little improvement I would make is to have the showers a little bit hotter. Especially during the winter months.

Perfect location. Beautiful serene beaches. Gorgeous sunsets. This is a big park. The sites are widely varied. If you are unable to make a preview visit, be sure and look at the site pictures on the the reservations page. Some say they are large, but there are lots of trees making entrance tight. Just because you have a lagoon-side site, many have a marsh between the site and the lagoon. I found the roads very tight for my 35' MH. Be sure and unhook your toad in the visitor center parking lot before you go into the campground. No sewer connections, but the water and elec were good. The bathhouses looked like they are new or recently remodeled. The beach is long, clean and without commercializations. All that said, this is THE place to stay if you go to PCB.

One morning I was able to catch an amazing sunrise from our site. It's a short bike ride over to the beach where we saw beautiful sunsets. Gator Lake trail is a very nice, short walking trail. We didn't see any gators though. There is a shuttle boat to Shell Island, but it's not running at this time of the year. Bathrooms are clean and there are a couple of nice playgrounds for kids, as well as a nice fishing pier. Verizon coverage was very good.
