Very crowded and its much, much worse than last year (2023) and this was seen mid-week in late October at noon. I didn't camp here this year but passed by, won't plan on coming here again. Its full of RVs and vans clearly setup filltime, it used to be mostly overnighters and wide open spaces without having to stare at some RV. Get ready for 3 day stay limit or shut down. I do not camp in crowded places like this. Homelessness is out of control in America. To complete the scene, police car was setup near theentrance. The crazy thing is even faraway remote spots off bad road were full of rigs, I could see them with my binoculars. Last year in October it was nothing like that, even during eclipse, boondocking is finished.

Per a few other reviewers, there are two places to camp.
After you pass through the gate, remembering to close it behind you, you will see a fork. It goes left and right. To the right it's safe for larger rigs. Class A, C, so on.
If you go left, you'll want to take note, for about .50 to .75 miles you are going to be navigating in pretty large and rough rock. It's bumpy. The payoff it great however.
There are a number of sites out on the rim easily accessible.
We travel in a Tundra pulling a Winnebago FLX 2108 DS and had no trouble getting out here, although it was slow going and plenty was strewn around in the RV upon arrival.
I'd come out here again, for sure. But just plan to take it slow.
Make note. Once you begin your trek along the rim, you are going to pass a handful of spots on your right along the rim.
There will come a very large spot on your right and you can then see the road goes to the left and down.
Exercise good judgement here. That road descends dramatically over a short distance which you cannot see until you are on top of it. And if you are on top of it, there is no turning around. Further, getting back up that will be a challenge for anyone pulling a trailer. Also, that road dead ends. It does not loop back out to 89a. So there is one way in and one way out.
Be careful of that drop if you go there.

Verizon speeds were good but variable at 22 Mbps download and 9 upload with some ping spikes. T-Mobile was roaming. AT&T was 22/0.5. Verizon and T-Mobile speeds taken with a roof mounted Pepwave antenna. ATT via phone. No obstructions for Starlink or solar.
Crowding was light given the premium views. There were 5-10 rigs here in total with >100 yards between spots. It was dead during the week and there were maybe 5 rigs in the whole deal even during spring break. No squatters.
The highway to get here is in good shape. As others noted, there is a big dip at the turnoff and you'll want to go very slow and at an angle or you'll bottom out. Open the gate and close it behind you. The initial road segment before the fork is in good shape, but one Class C tried it after a full day of rain and got stuck.
The left fork is very rocky and rough but most rigs could do it. It's just a matter of comfort level. There aren't any significant issues with clearance as a ~40 ft fifth wheel made it down to the rim while we were there. We did not take our Airstream down it - it's rough with only the truck and off-road tires/suspension, let alone a trailer. It'd take half an hour to go a mile and our cat would've gotten sick. Your mileage may vary. Your reward for the terrible road is being able to camp right on the rim of Marble Canyon.
The right fork is much less rough, but has worse views. "Worse" in this instance is still a top 3 boondocking view for us behind only the Wall in Wall, SD and a spot near Grand Teton. The views all the way at the end of the right fork aren't appreciably better than they are by the science/weather station you'll see.
Mild amount of road noise from the highway but the highway traffic was pretty low and traffic was only audible outside. If you were deeper past the weather station, there'd be no noise.
Dumpsters are available at Lees Ferry. Propane is available in Page at the Marathon station. Water and dump are available at the Maverick in Page. The dump station in Lees Ferry has a 'for registered campers only' sign and had shutoff the potable for the season. There is a threaded potable water spigot near the Lees Ferry boat launch by the bathroom which would be good for 5 gallon jugs - position is bad for filling up trailers of any length.
The Cliff Dwellers Restaurant 2 minutes down the road is excellent and we ate there a few times.

Make sure you take it slow on that then if you can and be sure you’re not gonna turn into the deeper part of the dip. Camping here was incredible though, pitched up a tent and watched the sun come down over the vermillion cliffs. Very quiet, and not much activity.

Only the first 1/3 or so of the long rugged road is teeth rattling, just take your time and have decent tires. Once the road gets to the rim, the view gets even more spectacular with the Vermillion Cliffs to the north and the Colorado river scraping the earths core below. Watch out for the cactus! Stayed here a couple of nights and hiked about nine miles along the rim and gullies/ravines in the area. G2G

This place is beautiful and I truly don’t want to leave but the signal is so spotty. I don’t have Starlink yet and just a HiBoost and even then my signal sucked. 1 minute it was 2 bars the next SOS. I have AT&T aircard and a Verizon Hotspot and neither works. One day when I have Starlink I’ll come back. It’s absolutely worth it.

We love this place. We spent a week here in Oct 2022 and a few days again in Nov. We camped right next to the cliffs looking down at the Colorado.
We were in a truck camper and the road is BAD. I'd not try it in a big rig or wowing a trailer.

Two to 4 big RV sites just inside gate. This where we parked. Dirt road then inclines down small hill to sandy wash with a water-cut dip that may cause long-tail & low-clearance to drag rear bumper. (Depth of sand can vary with wind or rain.) Big RV spot just past this arroyo. At road Y, left goes to rough with several stretches of very rough exposed stones, some ruts, and a couple of short dips for arroyos that would be a problem for long rigs. Many nice sites of all sizes for 2 miles if you can get to them. Scout this in advance. From Y, it is about 1.6 miles down right road to Marble Canyon/Colorado River (hike, mountain bike, or high-clearance vehicle). At road Y, right goes to several nice sites of all sizes before road gets very rough. Must park at prior-used spots along roadside and do not drive onto unspoiled desert. No OTA TV reception.

I decided to go left at the fork... road is very rocky in several sections, inside trailer looked like a wreck when I got to a spot near the rim. However, nothing broke, so not all bad. Spots to the right apparently are not as close to rim views. Arrived Thursday morning, drove all the way down to the best looking spot for a trailer which was already taken. Road further got steep and narrow, so I turned around and took a spot close to where the road meets the rim. Stock up before you get here, you will not want to drive the road in and out too many times.

“Where?”
noted 10/3/2023
I’ll be damned if I can ever find the turnoff much less try to hang a left with a semi on my bumper. Probably why I always stay at Lee’s Ferry when I’m in the area. For $10 I get a protected turn lane, table, shade, toilet and view. Oh, and a river.
