This was our first "shake down" trip with our teardrop trailer. The campsites are spread over a redwood-shaded valley, and the Pescadero Creek runs through the middle.
Our campsite was easy to get into with our trailer, and we disconnected our trailer and pushed it in a level spot near the picnic table. There was a fairly large group staying nearby, and their pre-teen kids were a bit noisy on the first night, but the quieted down after that.
Sitting under the redwoods was very peaceful, and we could hear a couple of owls in the early morning. Hiking trails lead out from the campgrounds into the nearby hills. The bathrooms were clean, and there were showers available that took quarters. There was no cellular reception, but at the building near the entrance you could get Xfinity Wi-Fi if you had an Xfinity account. There also was a San Mateo County WiIf, but it was not working.
Relaxing at our campsite, exploring the grounds, and hiking were just what we were looking for. And Memorial park delivered.

One issue is there is no reception with any carrier so if you need to stay in contact on the internet this may not be the place but it was nice to have showers and a tap/faucet to drink from.

So, we have been coming to Memorial Park for years, brought our children here and camped in a Tent, then upgraded to a Coleman Pop-Up Trailer and now a Small 24' Thor RV. It's great to camp under the redwoods, it's a family campground and the place was loaded with families, kids riding bikes, playing in the creek and many activities for children and adults. They have creekside walking trails and hiking up so a small summit.
This is a DRY Camping location, no hookups at the campsites but there is water available in various locations, communal showers and restrooms. You are under the redwoods, so naturally, no cell service anywhere, the 1000 year old trees block any coverage. But if you're looking to disconnect for a weekend, this is the place.
During fire season they asked for no ring fires, but charcoal was ok to cook with. They have many sites to back in an RV but mostly small ones, you might be able to park a 30' RV, but that's about it. Trailer and Tent Sites are more plentiful. They have a camp store with most everything you need and a really nice Ranger Station with mini nature museum about the history of the Camp and the Redwoods.

Not too many trailer sites. If it says "small trailer" the ranger said that's means 18' or under. They have a small store their too in case you forget something or want an ice cream cone. The have a dump site too.
Don't stay at the campsites near the entrance, You'll be right next to the road (noisy road traffic) No cell reception, they have pay phones.... yes I said pay phones.
Most sites have big bear boxes & 2 picnic tables (which are new) I think site C-27 is the best site (under 18' trailers only) Love this place !!!!

And, although we called in advance to verify that our campsite was near the newly remodeled showers, the only open shower in our section was dilapidated, unclean, and had a very hot pre-set water temperature.

Big sites, campground spread out over large property in the redwoods. A year-round creek runs through the center. Designated sites for tent/short trailer/long trailer ($30/$40/$45)
Zero cell reception but the store and ranger station in front has fast/free WiFi.

The walking tracks werent very well sign posted (not sure if thats normal) and a few areas fenced off for repairs/upgrades. Id say a little run down but that didn't effect our stay. Hot water was a plus. Only negative was that their phone reservations office is only open weekdays and their online booking system is a joke. We just turned up which worked fine but would have been a pain of they were full. Not very user friendly to people travelling as they go!!

Given how the traffic works (or doesn’t work), my husband decided to drive down the peninsula the night before and camp close to his photo location the next morning. The county memorial park turned out to be a lovely spot in a lush grove of redwood trees. Close to dusk, the fog started to roll in off the ocean, giving a quiet, peaceful feeling. The park encompasses 675 acres with 156 camp sites. There were only 3 campers in the park on a Tuesday night, May 1. The fee was $25 and showers were available. No dogs are allowed. It was a treat finding such a lovely place to camp in the off season.
