Really nice spot, happy to have stopped here.

We filled up and used it only for showers and dishes. Looked fine to me. Would definitely come back. Phone service for Verizon was on and off.

Be advised that there is no potable water at the dump station. There are water spigots around the campsites, however the water coming out of them is brown with rust. Bring some really good water filters or come in loaded with your own water.

There are two distinct camping areas at Rye Patch State Park. The River Campground - where I stayed - provides a more campground type feel while the Westside Campground above the dam has more of an RV Park feel.
This camp has both back-in and pull thru sites and offers a good mix of shade and sun. Since there are no hook ups here I choose site 12 and had good solar exposure all day long. The sites are paved and some are more level than others, though the use of blocks is probably needed at all the sites. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There are water spigots in many locations around the camp and there is also a dump station. There are pit toilets as well as a bath house with four flush toilets and two showers.
The showers -- while nicely tiled and a fairly good size with good pressure and hot water -- are lacking in places to put your stuff to keep it dry. There are some hooks, but it is just one open room. Thank goodness they have rainfall shower heads, otherwise everything would get wet.
Getting to the park is a snap as it is only a mile or so off of Interstate 80. Roads getting to the park and inside the park can easily accommodate any sized rig, though not all sites (in either campground) can accommodate larger setups. There is a hairpin, downhill curve to get down to the River Campground but with a reasonable degree of caution, it shouldn't present any problem to navigate.
I was able to get a fairly decent Verizon signal in my site, though at times it would drop.

We stopped here to break up a long trip between Reno and Elko. We chose the "river Campground" as opposed to the "Westside Campground". The River CG has more shade and site 9 is right on the banks. We pulled our Class A in nose first in order to get the best river view. The $20 fee was for non-residents and is still a very good price for this place. Off the highway and down in the trees, my T-Mobile 5G hotspot still had 7mbps download. Sites are paved and in various lengths. Since this is FCFS just cruise around until you find just the right spot. It is dry camping. No hookups, but there is a dump station. There are rental kayaks and paddleboards. Fishing and hiking is also available. They do have toilets but we didn't go inside to check them out. Lots of wildlife. Amazingly when you cross the small dam on the right side are 6 car charger station.

At the time we were here it was all FCFS, but it looks like they may be switching to a reservation system soon. We paid $20 per night at the entrance pay machine that accepts credit cards. We were then allowed us to choose either camping area and site we wanted to. We camped at the lower campground, River campground. River campground has a lot of mature trees for shade (and they were planting more), nearly every site can handle a big rig, just watch for some overhead branches in some sites.
The road to the campground (FYI take care at the railroad crossing, there is a big bump, especially if you are towing) and in the campground were all paved as well as most of the sites. Fairly level, table, fire pit, some with BBQs and some with ramadas, pit toilets in the center of the campground and then a shower/flush toilet building at the entrance. Three individual toilets and three individual free showers. Trash dumpster near the restroom building and lots of smaller trash cans at many of the sites. There are also many water spigots around the campground.
On the way down to the River Campground there is a nice dump station to the right and some unnumbered, overflow type camping in a gravel lot to the left. In this gravel lot there was a EV charging station. Further down the road before the curve down, there was another overflow type gravel camping area.
The campground has 22 numbered sites and then 3 sites in a smaller gravel lot that had power for an additional $10.
I would not recommend Westside for large rigs.

We pulled in fairly late on a Friday night and there were still multiple campsites open. Great place to stay with enough space between sites. Stars were beautiful! Only downside was that we could hear the highway and train in the middle of the night, but the noise wasn’t bad enough to not come back :)
