Hacienda de la Habana is a green oasis in the oasis town of Mulege. On an orange grove and surrounded by working farms, there is plenty of shade and greenery to give the weary desert traveler a nice change of pace. We paid 350 pesos for FHU/night.
Approximately one hundred meters down the road you can also purchase a whole bag full of fresh veggies straight from the farm. A big bag cost us 75 pesos which comes to about $4 USD.
Although it is about 3 km down a dirt road, we were traveling with a truck and trailer and got there just fine. There were also Class A's and other large campers there when we visited, so it is worth the trek. Although we more or less followed the directions from Mike & Terri Church's Baja Campground Book, once we located the "RV Park" sign, we were able to follow the signage directly to the campground.
Some of the cons of this campground. The dirt road in to the campground is a long one. I can't imagine trying to navigate it after a rain storm. There is only one bathroom and shower but it seems that most campers are showering in their rigs. The water pooled at the bottom of the shower, so there was a bit of a slow drain when we were there.
Some things that we appreciated: having free unlimited access to the oranges and the on site juicer, the security, the wifi, the full hook ups, the friendly staff, and the warm water and nice pressure in the shower. Oh, and they also provide toilet paper, hand towels, and hand soap in the bathroom. This seems to be lacking in most campgrounds in Baja.
Overall we really liked this campground and would definitely stay here again.

Baja is desert and beach. This place is a true oasis surrounded by organic vegetable agriculture. They guys just down the road will sell you a huge pile of (just harvested 10 feet away) beautiful organic produce for MX$100. Totally silent. Oranges everywhere. Lots of birds. Immaculate landscaping. Super owner who gave me fresh snapper... more

Totally silent. Oranges everywhere. Lots of birds. Immaculate landscaping. Super owner who gave me fresh snapper. Can't post the rate because we haven't paid yet.
Good WiFi. Telcel LTE. Good water pressure and sewer. 15A electric. Pool was not filled. Didn't use the beautiful bathroom.
The property is for sale. I hope the new owners will love it, too.

Hummingbirds have come from afar for the same reason we did, fruitful trees where the oranges are so abundant that they fall from the tree often faster than enough guests can come to visit this place and pick them. Ray's is not on the water. It is more expensive than anywhere else we looked into near Mulege and south on the Bahia Concepcion. But it is very beautiful, and verdant.
Still, I'm not sure why I was charge a full $5 more than my neighbor, when we all used the same resources and stayed the same amount of time.
Still, what I wouldn't give to be here in the summertime when it is, I assume, bumping, the pool full, and the water rising up higher than the swimming pool's bar seats. Until one of my fellow patrons found that the one and only bathroom was too difficult the wait, and the water went a bit warm.

Green grass, orange trees free to pick, shade or sun at your disposal, and a friendly owner make Ray's RV Resort the most relaxing place to stay in Baja (so far). Green grass, orange trees free to pick, shade or sun at your disposal, and a friendly owner make Ray's RV Resort the most relaxing place to stay in Baja (so far). It's not on a beach and the 2 mile dirt road is a pain (although easily passable with reduced speed) but the farm land surround Ray's make for a great place to hang out while visiting the Mulege or the coastline in either direction.
Camping is on a large, flat, grassy area with power and water at each site. It looks like there was sewer in the past, but they are all capped as of Jan '16. The swimming pool was empty with it being January and all, but we had all the fresh squeezed orange juice we could drink. The bathroom and shower (yes, only one for the entire park) were clean and each shower consisted of about 5 minutes of good hot water before it began to cool.
Worst part is the road in, but don't let that scare you off. Just follow the signs starting on the main highway and every corner you need to turn after that.
Best part is the cool breeze, peace and quiet after a few weeks of tourist traps and gritty villages.
