Our initial plans were to stay at an rv park in Lodi, but a fast online search brought Rancho Seco Recreation Area to the front of the line. This county park was located in the country, a short drive away from town, on a lake, with some trails to walk our dogs. The current rate was $40.00, but $35.00 with a senior discount. They also charge $3.00 per pet.
Arriving mid week we found the park almost empty, with only 4 other campers in the rv section. We had a very nice site with electric, water, picnic table and fire ring. The gravel pad was large enough to accommodate a 40' rig, level, a lake view and a very nice lawn featuring many shade trees. The restroom was near our site and the dump station across the road. After looking at all the rv sites, we would recommend only the first 6, as the others look pretty close to each other. Overall, a very clean park with all the amenities for a short stay. The park's distance from stores and restaurants may be a downsize for some.
Staff at the park shared that every weekend is sold out and bustling with people.Summer days are zoo like. Mid-week and off season is the best time to visit. We were told by local fisherman that shore fishing is pretty good and small boats without gas engines are allowed on the lake. There are many walking opportunities around the park and lake. There is also two fenced dog parks on the shoreline for your pets to run amok and go swimming.
Michael & Imkelina would stay here again

We needed a place to stay for a couple of nights outside of Wilton, CA for some repairs on the Airstream. We decided to take a chance on this county/ utility district park.
In addition to the $30 per night, we had to pay an $8 reservation fee.
Each site has water, electric, fire ring and BBQ. The sites are back-in gravel and pretty level. Our site (3) was long enough to keep the truck and 30' trailer hitched. Out our back window was a lake view and out the front was a field country setting view.
All sites are not equal. After walking around the campground, we quickly decided that site 3 was the best. As you go further into the campground, the sites are much closer together. If I were to come back, I'd stay in the first 6 sites.
The campground also has two dog parks.
The campground was full over the weekend. I imagine that this place is a zoo in the summer. Lots of fishing and they rent kayaks. No gas engines allowed on the lake.

“ Very Bad Costumer Service ”

Used to be grate. No one bothers you. Now new people running it. Very Bad Service always looking for confrontation. Find any site but this one.
