Someone’s truck and boat were pulled half way across my site. The people occupying the site across from mine had a class A, a truck, a Jeep, 2 motorcycles, and a trailer. All parked in front of their site and mine. It would seem that most people were going to be there for a long time. The bathrooms were DISGUSTINGLY dirty. I avoided them altogether.

From what was relayed to us by the full timers, 5 month stays, 24 sites are occupied during peak season. The campground is spotless and maintained by full timers. We did not use the restroom or showers.
If traveling RT 36 through Kansas, we would stay here again.

Swimming beach is very rocky so bring swim shoes. It had small play area, tether ball, basketball and volleyball courts but you need your own basketball or volleyball. Shower house looks nice on outside but was dirty and needed maintenance. Paint was peeling and caulking was moldy and doesn't drain well. But there was lots of hot water. WiFi signal is too weak to use.

We stayed here on the way home from Arizona. Our site was concrete which was nice and level. The water was not turned on yet though, we were charged for the when making the online reservation but the sign at the park said you're not supposed to be. The campground was quite. The sites have an ok amount of space between them but there is zero privacy. We had good verizon coverage and zero over the air tv channels. The wifi worked really well (50mbps down) but there were few people at the campground. For some reason there was a street light in the grassy area behind our campsite which was rather obnoxious.

We had room for our 37 foot trailer and truck with lots of room to spare. There are clean bathrooms, shelters, playgrounds, volleyball and basketball courts, a lake and a nature trail. The starry, night sky was amazing, too. We would highly recommend this place!

The covered picnic tables were nice, and enjoyed both the incoming variety of water fowl, and the white tail deer that came through at various times.

Norton is about five miles from the park and we did some small town exploration which was fun, too. Highway 36 across Kansas was unexpectedly pleasant even during harvest season. The fact that I limit myself to driving 65 so my truck doesn't drop fuel economy too low when pulling my TT made it nicer.
One thing to keep in mind at any KS state park is that in addition to your camping fees you have to pay an entry fee. It's only $5 per day, but if you are on a very limited budget that can add up.

We camped at Prairie Dog State Park in a Motorhome.
