In general, the campground offers a basic set of amenities for campers who simply need a place to stay: security, full hookups, good showers/toilets, reasonable price. The WiFi was fantastic. The RV Park is several gravel parking lots with site hookups. This was all we needed. However, on our second morning we were awakened by blasting music, which came from someone at nearby Tucson Dragway. The RV Park security could do nothing about this assault. We left for breakfast, and it was still pounding out its heavy bass hours later. The Tucson Speedway is also nearby, and the camp guidelines informed us that racing noise and after-hours events could be noisy. If you want to stay here, check first the websites for those two raceways to see if events are planned during your dates. Don’t forget your earplugs or sound-deadening headphones.

Stayed here 9 nights while waiting for repairs to be done on our RV. The office building appears to be new. Laundry was small but cheap, $1.50/load. Two laundry buildings available to campers. The staff was friendly. We were able to receive UPS, FedEx, and a delivery from our mail forwarding service. There are events at the fairgrounds every weekend all within walking distance. Wal-Mart is a five minute drive along with many newly built restaurants. The Restaurant at the fairgrounds is open weekends. Located far enough away from the interstate you never hear the traffic. Propane and dump station ($5) available for anyone passing through the area. Late evening arrivals accepted...just pull in front of the office and wait for security to park you. Dog friendly, just keep on leash and be outside with your pet, grassy dog run was nice. If stopping for just a night there are a few sites available where you don't need to unhook your tow.

Sites are gravel with some having “weeds” like ours, which meant lots of sharp goat heads! Close to shopping and Saguaro NP East but quite a distance from downtown Tucson. Cantina on site and a horse event was going on the weekend we were there so heard lots of “buzzer” noise all day/evening.
Laundry (2 washers, 4 dryers) and showers onsite at office, but showers only available when office is open because you need a key. Would only stay here again if needed to be in the area or at the fairgrounds for an event.

This fairgrounds is easy to locate, access, and maneuver around in any size RV and has a plethora of spaces. The park itself offers the gamut of hook-ups, from dry to full. There are restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities which were all well-maintained. The place has two fenced dog runs, and there is a 1.5 mile fitness track with strength stations and a cactus garden at the back of the park. There was plenty of OATV and free park wifi. The Cantina, located in the center of the fairgrounds, opened during event weekends, serving up typical bar-type food and drinks.
It is a busy place since events are held every weekend, but if you're staying there you can often take advantage of the events, many free. While we were there, we watched horse jumping, penning, and dog agility competitions all free of charge. Food events, amusement events, and RV shows all took place during our stay, and provided entertainment (some fee, some free.) A variety of racing tracks are located outside the fairgrounds (and can be heard during the day, but never at night.) The only caution is that during event weekends, if you plan to leave the park, be prepared for a possible line to get back in. we had mail/packages delivered several times with no problems, and the park hosts often brought it directly to our rig.
The closest shopping and restaurants are only 10 minutes away. Saguaro National Park's Rincon Mountain District is very close by, and within 30 miles you can access all the hiking you'd ever want at Mt. Lemmon/Santa Catalina Mountains. Downtown Tucson, Tucson Mountain Park, and Saguaro's Tucson Mountain District are all easy drives. The Arizona Trail has many access points within a short distance from the park for hiking or mountain biking.
There was a pair of resident Great Horned Owls living in the trees near the radio tower, and we enjoyed listening to and spotting them many evenings. I kept my hummingbird feeder out and was visited daily by two Anna's. Rosy house finches and a vermilion flycatcher also flitted around near our site at the back of the grounds on a daily basis.

Between the crowds up front prepping for a livestock show (open frame construction style generators running trimmers/shears for the livestock) and the busy show happenings of the Tucson Raceway behind us.
I’m not complaining because that’s expected in a fairgrounds park.

Overall this was a good place to set up shop for a week when we wanted to find an inexpensive campground with full hook-ups. We'd just spent a very expensive week at the KOA and wanted to balance out our costs. The other option we considered was Gilbert Ray, but there it costs $20 per night for electric only. For $21 here (weekly rate), we got full hookups, so it was kind of a no brainer.
The campground isn't much to look at - really just a couple large parking lots - but it has some nice features - small dog runs, a couple huge fields we used for getting our dog exercise, a little nature trail for exercise, propane for sale, etc. It's not pretty by any stretch, and nowhere you'll be enticed to sit outside for happy hour, but if you're looking for a reasonably priced place to set up for a couple days or weeks in south Tucson, it's a solid option.
Customer service was friendly enough, there were always events going on that park, and it was convenient enough to the things we needed and wanted to do in the area. On the flip side, it could be loud with all the stuff going on nearby, some parts of the front parking lot could use some grading, and because they don't take reservations, and because there are so many events there, you do have to worry about getting shut out or told you have to move spaces or leave earlier than you might want to.
Overall, we would stay here again.

They were having a rv show on the fairgrounds so there was that. They have good happy hour deals in the grill. It is next to the racetrack so we heard racing all the time.
But it was overall a pleasant stay. They even loaned us an adapter for 110 to 30.

This place is getting a bad rap from a lot of reviewers but it just isn’t so. The front lot is all gravel most pull through slots. There is always something going on here. Every weekend we were treated to horse shows & competitions, dog competitions and one weekend a big RV show. In the front lot they have upgraded their WiFi and it’s fast & accessible. In total they said they have approximately 500 sites with full hookups either 50 amp or 30 amp most with a combination of both. They have huge areas for boondocking as well. Bathrooms are clean & LOTS of hot water, laundry is small but very functional. Escapees is holding their 59 escapade here in March with over 900 rigs and there should be no problem accomadating everyone. There is just so much to see and do even if nothing is going on, so many places to hike & enjoy the outdoors. With that being said they are very close to shooting range which is very active on weekends & a race track, also the Tucson PD practices on the track for their qualifying in cars for car chases. All in all a great place to call home for several months in winter.

They only allow access to the good showers during business hours and you have to stop in the office and ask for a key. Otherwise, you can shower in an unheated livestock building that looks like it's still used for scrubbing down farm animals and reeks of cow manure...and it was about half a mile walk from our site. Awful.
