If you are looking for solitude and to disconnect, this is the spot for you.
To reach the campsites, go past the Pack Creek Picnic Area. Note that there is a vault toilet here but the area is closed due to a fire in 2021. Please note the whole area was impacted by the fire, so use at your own risk.
There is a sign noting the road requires 4X4, however it is in very good shape to the campsites, and recently re-graded. It is in very good shape up to the only portion of private property on the road. It does cross a seasonal stream (pictured) and looks as if it can get very deep during snow melt so be cautious.
The sites themselves are open and flat. The first site sits a mountain bowel. It is surrounded by sagebrush and has beautiful views of the mountains. There was no outside noise here other than the calling of the birds. The entry to the site would allow a large rig to turn around with a bit of work.
The second site is past the fork to the private property. There is a warning sign just prior to the site noting the recent burn. The site is just on the other side of the hill. It too is flat, but looks that it could get a bit squishy during snow melt. It has the same amazing views of the first.
Neither site received any cellular coverage. Truly off grid.
