A remote town to get to, on the shores of Lake Superior. C/G is part of city park system with priority given to campsites. There are two camping sections, the older which is a little more sad and brushy and the new section which is also overlooking the lake and amongst stately pines. A remote town to get to, on the shores of Lake Superior. C/G is part of city park system with priority given to campsites. There are two camping sections, the older which is a little more sad and brushy and the new section which is also overlooking the lake and amongst stately pines.
The newer section has newer toilets and showers, nearby dump station and brush cleared sightline of the lake. All site here are waterfront, whereas only 50% are so in the older section. Either place is outstanding if you get the right site. They have elec. and water nearby. Downtown shopping is beyond a walk except for the hardy, but follows a beautiful shoreline and through pleasant neighborhoods. Each waterfront site has its own access to a sand beach that stretches for miles. Sunsets are spectacular!
