Stayed here 2 nights in mid-May, 2021. Located just a few miles from the north (Pinnacles) entrance into Badlands NP. Camp sites all along a decent dirt road that leads up to the top of the prairie. I camped at the top of the road just as it turned to the south towards the park. A bit of slant so recommend levelers. PROs: Beautiful view of both the prairie on one side and the Badlands on the other. Other campers were very well spread out. Quiet, far enough from the road to not hear the sparse traffic. Strong AT&T signal (I could see the cell tower from my camp spot!) Cons. Wide open to the elements! I woke up the first night to a classic, northern plains thunderstorm. The van was a rockin' and I don't mean in a good way. Thunderstorms in the area on the second night but did not pass through the camp site. Overall: Recommend, the proximity to the park, strong wireless signal for digital nomads, the beauty of the countryside and of course, the price of free make this a popular dispersed camping location.

This is a once in a lifetime camping experience! The view is amazing if you get a spot on the rim. Bring plenty of leveling blocks due to some of the uneven areas. Bring a full freshwater tank and an empty black and grey tanks. 1/2 a mile from Badlands National Park entrance. You will not be disappointed!

Stayed here for 12 days. Access is doable but go slow. Be careful if you enter the first entrance (closer to 90) after rain. Recently they (Forest Service) placed gravel on the areas closest to the antennas (The 2nd entrance) and it makes traveling the road better. The other entrance did not benefit from this gravel. My Focus scraped the bottom and damaged the mud cover for the underside of the engine. There are quite a few dips, ruts, unlevel areas on either entrance.
Lots and lots of places to camp here for sure. Was here over Memorial Day and it was quite crowded. Many would leave in the am and others would fill the spots soon thereafter.
We experienced quite a wide range of weather. Hot/Cold/Dry/Rainy/WINDY. Yes WINDY. 2 nights of 12 we had sustained winds in the 30 mph range with gusts over 60. There are no natural wind breaks there so your RV is experiencing the full force of that wind. The wind is real!
Badlands are a treat and one should ride through. There is another site by the far entrance to the Badlands too. The Homestead Prairie. A good walk through history. Of course, every one should visit Wall Drug. The donuts were pretty darn good. There was a nice little restaurant in town too - Red Rock Restaurant - the prime rib dip was awesome.
At&T had the better coverage and speeds here. Verizon was a tough go.

Plenty of space was here over a weekend and there was plenty of room. I was surprised how many people just come for a day given that I amused this as a base camp for anything within 75 miles.

Spent one night overlooking the Badlands. Was pretty windy and shook the van quite a bit due to a severe thunderstorm, but would definitely stay again. Lots of other campers but there was so much room, everyone was very spread out.

You cannot miss the place. South out of wall off of exit 110. Drive around 6 miles toward the national park. There are 2 easy to see roads in. Turn down one drive to the rim and set up. Few bumps on the road in but not bad. Plenty of maneuver room.

The wind for us was basically non existent. We had a bit of wind at night but nothing compared to what other reviews say.

My rant is,
WTF is wrong with people!? There were areas that had signs posted “no motor vehicles “ and several clowns ignored them,
Unless people play by the rules ,awesome areas like this are going to get shut down,
Humanity is killing this world!

Just know that when you come here, you will have neighbors and no privacy, but you'll be close to the Badlands, so there's that!
