We liked this place. For our stay we had temperatures in the 70's with only a light wind and clear skies. I could see how this place would be dusty if it were windy. It is barren land and not much grass to keep the dust down but while we were here it was perfect. There are camping spots on each side of the road as you head to the water and at the end there is a large parking area. We saw campers in all of those locations. The parking area would be my last choice though. If you can find one closer to the entrance you'll have more space away from other campers.
It is BLM land with 14 day stay limits. There are private land signs on the left and a quick check of the public lands map shows a boundary between BLM and private land. Others have mentioned target shooting but there are signs up now stating no shooting allowed so that must have changed recently. We heard some shots off in the distance but nothing close to this camping area. Overall a very quite place especially at night.
While here we saw yellow headed blackbirds, pelicans, ducks, fish surfacing and even had a couple owls land on our RV in the middle of the night. Plenty of animal activity and great views.
We got 30Mbps download and 7Mbps upload with AT&T and 7Mbps download and 1Mbps upload with T-Mobile. The local Maverick station to the north has a dump station but it is not potable water and they close the doors to the garbage so you may need to go somewhere else for that.

Good, somewhat popular / busy location that is easy to access, would be amazing on a clear day but unfortunately for us it was super windy and dusty (uncomfortably so). Would stay here again in a pinch if conditions were better, but there would likely be a lot of people. As others have said, quite a bit of trash.

Mixed feelings about this place. It's a solid hour from the trails and views in the mountains. There's no privacy at all. We pulled in on a Thursday and parked in an open area at the end. On Saturday night 3 rigs formed a circle 50 ft from us, followed by two more rigs in the same area. There really aren't that many spots to park here, even though it may look like that from Google maps. There's fencing and some of those "flat" trails aren't actually flat at all, but for ATV's.
Speaking of, Sunday was an absolute crap fast. We are no stranger to OHV type BLM areas, but this was the first time we encountered locals who simply didn't slow down in front of campsites. We watched as a family with kids was approached by a truck moving at a fast rate of speed across the dried out land, and up the hill only to have to slow down right as they approached them.
Locals in big trucks would purposefully speed up in front of parked rigs, and it happened multiple times which is why it's not a coincidence.
The locals have no respect for the land here, which is already attempting to heal from the Knolls Fire that burned 13k acres in 2020 (that is why there's nothing here). You can even dig down and find the burn marks from the fire still present.
If we absolutely had to return here for an overnight stop, we would, but other than that, I would just keep driving.

Downsides: Super dusty area and popular for groups on dirt bikes and quads, so dust is kicked up constantly. Tons of trash as well. The area seems to have been popular with target shooters because there is broken glass, ceramic and clay everywhere along with all types of shell casings. Good spot to stay a few nights, but prepare to get dusty.

Probably 10 obvious sites, two large dirt areas for groups, and always the grass of needed (though not as flat). Target shooting using glass bottles has clearly been VERY popular here with shells and broken glass everywhere. Signs say no shooting and we heard none, so maybe the signs are new? Easy place to stay that would be perfect without the glass and shooting debris.

Stayed here for access to SLC airport and to wait for some packages. About an hour from the airport, 30 minutes from all major stores which was very conveinent. Verizon reception was good enough to work remote, zoom, and stream netflix. Accessible for any vehicle; big rigs, 2wd, plenty of room to spread out. Main area is a lakefront boat launch, with absolutely epic snow-topped mountain views surrounding the lake (which was the only saving grace).
This was probably the filthiest campsite Ive ever stayed at (and that says alot). The first spot we picked was to the left of the gravel road. After picking up 3 full garbage bags of trash, dirty diapers, full cow carcasses, etc (which didnt make a dent) we were chased out by a very angry man who claimed it was private land. We moved to the other side of the road in obvious BLM area hoping to find a cleaner site, but with no luck. At our next site on top of the hill we filled another 3 garbage bags of construction material, food scraps, 200+ nails and bullet casings, etc before giving up. There must have been thousands upon thousands of nails on the ground here as if someone built and demolished a sky-scraper in this spot. An equal number of bullet casings of every variety despite probably 10 or so “no shooting” signs around. We saw BLM officials probably every 3-4 days driving around taking down plates, I assume to enforce the 14 day rule. Hopefully they have caught on to ppl building, shooting and poaching in the area and it will get better moving forward.

We stayed for a week while waiting for our tow car to get repaired. One of few free places in the area that is open in the winter. Plenty of spots to choose from. Just look for an empty fire ring and claim the spot as your home. A Mavericks (free water and dump) is about 10 minutes north of this spot & several propane options as well about 15 minutes north. The lake with snow is GORGEOUS — both the sunsets and sunrises (posted on our Insta @minihousebigliving). It did get a little muddy, but we were never worried about getting stuck.
We are in a 23 ft Class C.
Verizon had 2 bars and went in and out. AT&T was 1 bar and pretty terrible. We were able to do most of our work calls with our Verizon hotspots & mimo antenna. Weboost didn’t help at all.

I'm not sure why anyone would stay here more than one night, unless you were working in Saratoga Springs, or another local town. Its just open field with very little to no ground cover. Certainly, I would not want to try this area when its wet as I believe the mud would be tough, although the road in has plenty of rock. I would just be leery about pulling off onto the dirt/mud if it was very wet.
Good cell coverage with Verizon. No amenities and our spot was not very level. Easy to find. We saw a couple of rigs that looked like they maybe longer term residents with wind generators and large propane tanks.
But, for one night just passing through, its a decent stopover away from I-15 and the road south back to the freeway is very scenic.

We boondock more than half the year so have stayed in so many different spots. This was by far the DUSTIEST place we’ve ever stayed- to the point it was almost unbearable. Apparently there was a fire at some point this fall, which burned up pretty much any existing greenery. It is pretty much a giant dust pit at this point.
There are some nice views and the location is convenient. So it has that going for it. Also I’ll mention if you didn’t have kids (or pets) the dust might not be as big of a deal. But it was kind of a nightmare for us.
There are multiple spots for big rigs before you get to the parking lot (can’t miss it). Smaller vehicles can continue on from there.
I also want to mention there is SO much broken glass here. The ground literally glistened in the sun. So sad!
Overall, we aren’t very picky, but we would not stay here again due to the crazy amount of dust and glass.
Good access; decent cell overall, but we had some issues near the end of our stay (Verizon). We think it was due to overloaded cell towers.
