The park itself is well maintained and looks very nice. The sites are well laid out with sewer, power, water in between the non-door sides of campers so sort of out of sight which is nice. We had fantastic line of sight with Starlink to be able to work during the week & upon arrival we did use Maverick Ranch wifi to stream a football game while setting up & that worked great as well.
There is a clubhouse with heated pool, games, shower room, and a laundry room with 6-8 each washers & dryers which was very clean. The office staff was super friendly and helpful. They gave us maps of hiking/biking trails on the resort property and restaurant recommendations in the area. There is a pizza place, bar, bakery, deli, and gas station/small grocery store on the resort property as well as gift shop and golf store. They have dark skies policies in place and ask that outdoor lights be shut off at 9 so you can see an insane amount of stars right from your campsite.
Being avid hikers & trail runners, this place is a paradise situated right outside of Big Bend Ranch State Park and about 30 minutes from the west entrance of Big Bend National Park. The resort itself had some amazing hiking trails as well. We hiked up Lajitas Mesa right from our camper.
Overall, this is a fantastic park in an even more fantastic location & we will be back to enjoy the winter weather here next year (and probably again after that)!

We chose a Mountain View back-in site, and had a peaceful stay. The bath house is super clean and modern. We enjoyed a dip in the pool as well (water was pretty chilly). The shops and eatery across the road were fun - the fresh-made pizza is superb!

We stayed here in October of 2022 because of the proximity to Big Bend NP but will return to see the gorgeous night skies! Friendly staff, spacious sites and access to resort facilities across the street make this place feel included even though it is definitely in a secluded area. We enjoyed the live entertainment and a meal at the bar and great ice cream at the parlor across the street. The real entertainment was each evening sitting under the stars. We could see constellations and the Milky Way in all its splendor. AT&T hot spot was horrible but the campground wifi more than made up for it! AT&T Down: 0.83mbps Up: 0.00mbps Streaming: 1.4mbps Campground wifi: Down: 130.97mbps Up: 147.20mbps Streaming: 100mbps
Be sure to stock up before you arrive! The resort has a few supplies but it is expensive.

The Mountain views are nice, but honestly, with the wind and West Texas heat, we didn’t spend much time hanging out under our awning. Had two fantastic dinners 1) at the Starlight Theater in Terlingua Ghost Town and 2) at Candelilla at Lajitas Golf Resort. Big Bend National Park is about 20 Miles away at Study Butte TX. Highly recommend staying at Maverick Ranch!

We are 2 weeks into our one month stay in January in our 35’ fifth wheel. The RV park is splendid. The views from our site (49) are breathtaking. The accessibility to great hikes, both short and easy and long and hard, is a bonus. The staff are helpful and welcoming. The pool is now heated. It was warm yet still refreshing. There is a pickle ball court, ping pong table and corn hole game. Wifi can be either great or spotty. I know they are working on this. For my work zoom meetings I head to the club house where the wifi is more reliable. We have a booster antennae for our cell service and went from 1 bar 3 bars with AT&T, and 4 bars with USA Commnet. The park is quiet with the odd dog barking. Access to the resort across the street is very convenient…especially the bakery/pizza shop, where the fresh brownies and cookies are a bit of a problem:) The showers are decent and clean, but could use a bit of upgrading. This is a little oasis paradise in the middle of a mountainous desert!

Big Bend Ranch State Park is next to Maverick Ranch. Big Bend Nat Park is a 30-1 hour drive, depending on which part of the park you want to visit. Highly recommend going to the Chosis Basin, its a completely different environment. We also hiked the Santa Elena Canyon, well worth the drive.
AT&T cell service was marginal, 2 bars of 4G. We streamed off the park wifi which worked well. No noise at night except coyotes.

I was excited to stay here and use Camp Mode on my Tesla. This is the first RV Park to ever turn us away. Luckily there are several other RV Parks in the region that were welcoming.

The RV park was nice, the golf course spectacular, the staff were efficient if not overly friendly, and the pool, well it sucked. Freezing cold and so slippery that it is unusable and a real safety hazard! I expected more from someone who bills themselves as a top notch "Resort". There are even signs posted with regards to the slippery nature of the pool. Needed two planks to level the RV in the site. The site was huge though.
Good access to Big Bend Ranch State Park.
Terrible local grocery store unless you only want beer, snack food, or some bread. The bread was great! Fruit and vegetable section was about six items. Much better grocery store down the road in Terlingua.
Here are a few other side notes:
1) I called the restaurant to make a reservation. No return call.
2) I called the resort to enquire about an early check in. Yup, no return call.
3) I find it offensive that a symbol of slavery from the Civil War is prominently displayed at the golf course. Really, a statue of General Robert E. Lee? You have got to be kidding me. How insensitive is the ownership group at this facility.
No surprise, but I will not be returning for this reason.
Like I said, at least the RV park was nice!

Affordable. All utilities worked, though there were a few power surges (likely due to a few storms in the area). Wi-Fi was blazing fast, exceeding 60Mbps down and 20Mbps up. Highly recommended.
