Within walking distance is a small waterfall that one can actually drive right up to and is ADA accessible. At the end of the BlueJay campground (which is primitive for tents or under 20ft RV's) is parking that is then a short walk to larger waterfall and swimming hole. Within a short driving distance, one must go see Brush Creek Falls. We watched some younger, braver souls jump off the waterfall into the swimming area below. This is at the beginning of a beautiful hike one could take to see more beautiful scenery.
The campground itself is located in Camp Creek State Park which offers playgrounds, volleyball, picnic shelters, amphitheater, horseshoes, gift shop, and many hiking trails. Definitely would stay again.

There are a variety of hookups from electric only to full hookups. Bathhouses are clean with laundry available. We stayed in site 17 with electric only. We chose this one due to having two large dogs as it is facing the hillside and offers more privacy. They have a no alcohol policy but people were obviously drinking and no one said a word. Firewood and ice available for purchase. The state park also has another primitive campground with beautiful sites on the creek that allowed under 20 feet or tents only. Very nice playground, picnic shelters, trails, volleyball, and horseshoes.
Waterfalls! One can drive up to a smaller one that is ADA accessible and a bigger one you can park nearby and walk about 3/10th of a mile. A short drive to nearby Brushcreek Falls is totally worth it! Bring your swimming gear if you’re brave enough to jump or just want to take a dip into the beautiful water.

We enjoyed our time at camp creek state park. The campground was clean and the staff was very friendly. We only stayed over the weekend but the park was very quiet. The hiking trails are well kept and well marked.

We just stayed here overnight and wished we had more time. We would have liked to explore the area more and hiked several of the trails. This is a small campground but located in a beautiful valley. The sites are just far enough apart, level and good hookups. The office staff was very helpful in telling us about the area.

We were at this campground for 2 nights. It is a wonderful and quiet place. The thing we loved most was seeing the stars at night! We’ve already picked sites we’d like to have for our next visit.
Bathhouse was clean and the shower area had a bench, and hooks and a towel bar. Very nice! Well maintained.

I’m so glad we found this small but very nice campground because we will be back to visit The New River Gorge. Next time we’ll make our reservations earlier to be sure to get a creek side site. The sites are paved and mostly flat. I felt like we were in a little bowl with mountain range all around. There are many trails that you can walk, bike, ride or a combination of methods with waterfalls and beautiful woods. The water level was low at the time but still pretty, but I bet it’s amazing when the water is flowing stronger. We had to leave before we could visit the Gorge but I’m looking forward to that in the future.

We stayed at Mash Fork for only one night since we were just passing through the area. Very easy access off of I-77. We stayed in an electric only site that backed up to the creek. Very large sites and easy to back in to. The sound of the creek rushing by out of our back window was so relaxing... just what we needed after a long travel day! The campground also has a few full hook up sites, and a couple pull through sites. Bath houses and dump station were in pretty good shape as well.
The park itself is very large, with multiple hiking trails and activities like picnic areas, playgrounds and basketball hoops. These are not that close to the campground though, so you may be better off driving or biking to get to the other areas. Except Mash Fork Falls which is just a short walk from the campground, and we highly recommend checking it out during your stay.
This was a very well taken care of little campground, and we will definitely be back. We did a quick video review about it if you want to see it for yourself!
