Hiking trails right behind our campsite. Clean well-maintained area. Bathouse not so clean ... in need of restoration. Check-out is noon; check-in is 2pm. We arrived noon and they wouldn't let us in until like after 1pm. It was aggravating, but is the rules. 😔 Anxious to go again in 2025.

Although this is a very lovely campground with restrooms and showers, they do not allow to small camper vans to stay in one site. Neither of us needed hook ups, and there was plenty of room for both of us in the pool through site. I looked online and it said two vehicles per site, but because they are “Campervans“ they cannot use the same site. Not too happy about this because it doesn’t say anywhere about this on their website at least not that I could find. In California any two vehicles that fit on the pad allotted for each site are allowed to be on the site. Not in Arizona!luckily they had another site available for my friend to stay in, but if we had been here on a Friday or Saturday, we would not have had accommodations for both of us!

Another great Arizona State Park. Miles and miles of hiking right out from the campground. Plus a short drive gets you further into the Superstition mountains for even more adventure.
Asphalt sites are well spaced with smaller trees and shrubs for a decent amount of privacy. Some electric and water sites, some rustic--easily identifiable on the website. Reservations are a must.
About a 45-minute drive to Scottsdale.
There is a dump station on site and freshwater. One of the bathrooms was closed for repairs while I was there so I did not use any of the facilities. Limited generator hours in the rustic sites (thankfully, although I wish they did not allow generators at all.)

We've been to this park several times over the years, including getting married there. Now that we're fulltiming, we had the joy of staying there for two full weeks. The views and hiking here are just incredible. I could stare at the Superstition Mountains all day, and at golden hour, it's one of my favorites I've seen. The park is very spread out and there are plenty of very large sites to accommodate anyone. We even had space to have an overnight visitor park in our site. Sites and grounds are well-maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful. It's not too far of a drive to things like groceries, and there are other attractions around to check out. Cell service is a bit weak, but it was fine for me to use VPN and work full time for the two weeks. The only ding I would give it was the bathrooms could have used a little more maintenance, especially the showers - at least the one near where our site was. Other than that, this is a top-notch place, and I'd continue to go here every time I were in AZ.

Camp staff happily switched us to the electrical site the second night when they opened up an additional 40 campsites for the weekend. Both spots (#62 & #92) were level and spacious. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Trails from the campground into the National Forest were convenient and nicely marked. This is a great place to camp.
