I stayed here for seven nights completely free. The first night I was here there were two other campers both in tents. the second day one of people left, and it was just me and one other person the entire week and boaters came during the day. Grounds crews came two days in a row and weed whacked and cut the grass while I was here and emptied the trash.
this place would have a 10 out of 10 rating if it weren’t for the people -each picnic spot area has a covered picnic table and a barbecue all of the barbecues I checked were full of trash so I feel like the ground crew that came by didn’t check, but people are rude and should not be using barbecue pits as trash bins. There was also a lot of trash on the ground that the ground crews did not completely clean up. When I arrived at the trash bin was overflowing probably from the weekend prior and didn’t get emptied until Tuesday. I did not use the restrooms because I have one in the trailer.
The only other annoyance was some people who came and were here late like past 11 o’clock with their diesel engines running after boating and just being outside and loud. Most of the boaters were loading in and out no problem. Nobody was blaring loud music or being unnecessarily disruptive. There weren’t a bunch of drunk parties. I did not see any police come through as others stated.
Based on the reviews, I opted to try her first versus number two and I’m glad I did for the most part It was incredibly quiet and peaceful all week.
I use Starlink for work but My T-Mobile reception was not that great. I also have solar on the trailer and only had to turn the generator on once mostly because this week was pretty overcast most of the week.

Stopped over for a night after driving back from New Mexico (May 31-June 1). Original plan was to stop at Lake Limestone Public use #2 but there were quite a few camps set up for the night. Drove over to #3 and parked as far back as the road would let me back up. There was one other group near the dock which was the reason I tried to park far enough to give plenty of space since they were there before me. Nighttime bugs were pretty bad and the grass needed a to be cut. Other than that I will most def plan to stay there again if I’m passing through the area and Need a place to stop!

The place was clean, people were friendly, quiet space, loved the sound of the lake! You can fish, tent camping is cool, no worries. The police routinely check the place. Would stay again for sure!

“Went to check it out...”

Gross, trashed and doesn't look anything like the other campgrounds. I spoke to BRA and they stated they no longer do the upkeep for this campground. Whoever is in charge of it has let it go.
“Just drove through to check it out”

This is a free county park with covered picnic tables and grills. Not a whole lot going for it other than access to the lake for fishing. Maybe 12 sites with several right on the bank of the lake. There is a boat ramp, trash cans and dumpsters. No public water that I saw. Easy in and out for large rigs but only a few looked suitable for parking and leveling along the paved single lane loop. There are two sites in an open grass area that looked better for leveling and they had some tree shade. As you can see on Google maps, the campground is Located right off the paved road. We were just passing through to check it out and have lunch but did not stay overnight. 4 miles south in Union, TX is a BBQ joint and across the road is a gas station and convenience store.
We might use this as an overnight stay but Lake Limestone Public Use Area #2 which is just 3 minutes away was a bit nicer.
