Overall Rating
We stopped at this campground on our way to the Triangle Metro. It is literally just right off I40 North bound.
The campground is around the lake where RVs are park quite close to one another with the tent sites at the far end across the beach area. Swimming and paddle boat rentals are by the beach to the right of the office. We were given hand written paper receipt with a vehicle tag. No map or list of amenities. We were also told to keep or pittie mix pet dog mostly inside our riig for insurance concerns.
(*Sigh)
But don't expect the layout to be straight forward because it was confusing when we first got in. Seems like the campground got bigger with little planning and skimpy budget.
Some cabins seemed like it grew bigger from long term renters with accumulated stuff.

We were put on a “Sandy lot”, around permanently placed RVs. A man pulled his van up to our Airstream and tried to look into our tented windows. He was about 5-6” from our window and I was seated at our dinette on the other side. Completely freaked me out. The owner drove up and ask if everything was okay, when my husband said no we were leaving. They moved us to a grassy area with no hookups, near a “trapper John md” looking rv. The place looked like a homeless incampment. This is on a beautiful lake that is very run down.
