The forest service is not even allowing propane stoves anywhere even in the campgrounds. Don’t know how a tent camper could work that out?

Took a wrong turn on our way to Julian and ended up finding this spot so we set camp for the night. Overall it was a very nice and peaceful stay there except for the constant fog that created condensation in our camper and no cell service. The road can get a bit narrow so wouldn’t recommend large RV’s.

Dispersed camping, we found a nice spot about halfway down the upper section. We have a 22foot trailer and didn’t have any issues maneuvering between some trees. Stayed here early July, relatively quiet and not too hot in the shade, didn’t need to run the AC and an awesome cool breeze during the evening. Kids enjoyed playing around camp, it was a bit dusty but that is why we try only do off grid camping, to get dirty and enjoy piece and quiet. There were a few other people camping nearby but depending on where you setup shop, you don’t hear them much at all. Nice clear skies at night but no fires in primitive sites.
